just checked it out! haven't found a problem yet. testing on Mac OS X Mavericks with Bitwig Studio 1.0.2, tried some plug-ins like Waves, Zebra, etc and all went smooth so far.

i just discovered something very cool

i was trying to organize plugins by presets to get my own list of plugins to not having to browser from a huge list, and this was what i did...

i created an instrument track; example, synth1, with a preset for a drone...

i designed the drone also in midi, and then grabed the clip into the browser...

what happens? bitwig will create a clip in their library, that will be for now as unified preset betwen midi and track, and you can even ear the sound of it, when searching on the browser...

this is very good, its funny they didnt even promote, because its a great feature, it lets you create library of presets that you can easly acess

people use to save presets only and try around, with this, you can ear the sound before load the plugin and the preset already contains midi in... huge!!!!

@Ricciardo

dont want to start a daw war here just to let you know that
Studio one as this features since version 1 plus a lot more on broswer

check it out

the only thing about vst on bitwig is that, the broswer shows you instrument and effect on the same tab, a bit a mess
Studio one shows a tab for fx a tab for instrument and you can even organize by vendor/folder

but I agree good and usefull feature

yes i know... but i was just sharing the information ,because bitwig never made any promotion about it, and people could not now that it was possible to do it...

and there is other thing too, the files you save on bitwig, are incredibly small, all the data you save from a preset/midi is only 14kb... wich is amazing for portability, you can save thousands and thousands of presets ready to use and still easly share or move them around...

studio one in this matter its a bit more heavier, a usual musicloop file (wich is called) goes around 300kb depending on the preview wave file, because unlike bitwig that makes a realtime load of the plugin to let you preview the sound, studio one compacts inside the file a preview wave, so thats why its so "expensive" in terms of how it retains size in memory
