Jirah is the one that really caught my ear, I heard quite a lot of stuff from him and he makes great music with a lot of feel and emotion inside. He is supposed to release an album in USTA in July.
From the little I heard of Penta, he makes excellent full on. An album coming up soon at Spectral Concepts.
An honorable mention goes to the Spectral Concepts guys, that definitly have some talent working there- still work to be done on production- but it will come with time.
Also some nice airy progressiveness coming from Neum.
And not to leave the east coast, there is Deeper in Zen, with a lot of feel in his music- good full on stuff, though still some work on the production. But that will come with time.
As for the Goa Gil mixing debate- I can tell you that someone that can hold crowds of thousands dancing madly for 12 hours is a real trance DJ. And Gil is definitely one of the best.

Penta (san francisco) - Killer night time madness. We brought him out to play last year, one of the best live sets I've seen. The energy was amazing. Extremely unique well produced music.
Jirah (seattle) - Beautiful morning music. I believe he has an album coming out on USTA in the not so distant future. Just played with him last night, hadn't heard him in a good 9 months or so. Has definately gotten a lot better in that short amount of time! Top notch.

Rain (Eugene) - One of the West Coast's best ket secrets... RAIN is incredible. This guy should be playing all over the world. His set before Hux Flux at Phoenix Festival last summer was one of the highlights of my year.
Ghreg on Earth (San Francisco) - Always a pleasure hearing Ghreg play. And such a friendly guy too!
Psyki (Seattle) - A DJ newcomer... But watch out!!! He is about to blow up!!! You heard it here first --- Check him out. www.obscura.bz
And of course I would nominate myself, but that seems a bit selfish
