Just food for thought... As a working dj that buys ALOT of music on a weekly basis, I approach the artist to buy direct as much as I can before I go other places... I wish more artist/ producers would offer this option. I know promo/art/ mastering etc are often covered by the label as it can be tough for the "starving artist" to do this independnetly. One thing is for sure, all the music in my collection purchased directly from the artist, I find I cherish it much more than stuff I buy off other sites. Also I will buy the whole album vs just the tracks I really like... Prolly not completely on topic but that's my 2psynts...

Hi Upambas,

I see vibes of bad energy here and post is long. Please avoid vibes of bad and posts of long. Please listen to my advice and story: last night I found elements of forest trance in my kitchen. It was nightmare. Sound come from dishwasher and this sound was very dark. I understand imediatly that i must be strong and fight this element as alone and brave. Now after night i know now im another person, person of strong, and im ready for other elements.

Lesson of importance for you Upambas is to stand the pain alone as a person of strong. Then you will be ready to prepare to fight with problems as never before.

Thnx.

Upavas, you did the best thing to inform people out there about what happened. I know it's not easy to confess this publically without being accused to act like a troublemarker...

I would recommand to every artist that are facing a similar case:

1/Try to negociate and sort out things with the label in private;
2/If nothing comes out, send them a first warning, then a second warning that you're going to inform the psy scene about the story;
3/If the label still ignores you, then execute your threat "always in a diplomatic manner". That means: describe only the main point of the problem (avoid useless details insults & long digressions) and add relevant proofs to support your case (scans/image/texts), so labels cannot say that you are a big liar, etc.
4/If labels decide to break their silence on their forum, let them expose their "defense" and to not enter the argument/counter-argument game. Better let people and mainly artists judge about your situation.

Do not listen to the people who are saying your post "will show a bad image of the whole psytrance scene", "generate negative effects", etc. That's not true because:

1/The situation of the psy "industry" cannot be worse than today;
2/Not all the labels are acting like jerks, the more often that are isolated cases;
3/You will help other artists who are working hours & days on their tracks to not get blindly ripped of by unprofessional pseudo-labels;
4/the more people get informed, the better for all: will have a cathartic effect for other labels who want to manage a serious business and help progressively the community to get "cleaner".

Same thing goes to party organizers, and labels with distributors. I hope more artists will follow you. The bad stories, if they are used in a good manner, can benefit to the whole scene and make it better.

After all on ebay/amazon, you can let a feedback about your online deal. Isratrance should applicate the same policy and create a special section for such cases if needed and I have already read dozen on this forum...

Copy paste from Koan's profile.
I think it should be bumped to warn all before signing contract with Plusquam.
Not 1st, not 2nd, not even 10th artist cheated by this guy.

"Thomas Vitali (Sunstryk)!

Don’t write to me in PM, I have nothing to hide in opposed of you. In our case isn't legal actions only from your side, and with your contract you can F**K Off! You Break the Copyrights! You had published our tracks and do it till now and sell it with no rights on it! You give the titles of the tracks which are not in the contract. Even the second version you published with wrong titles. I signed the contract, but didn’t violate not even single condition of the contract! Instead of apologizing and try to fix the situation you are rude and ignored people. I have right to sue you for pirating my copyrights and many other people can do the same. Did You say monologs?!
You can see only ripple on the water, but not deep inside… Only what on the surface. I’m glad that people started talk about you and defend their rights. And a lot honored musicians and artists that you a cheated start talking about you. You say monologs?? You will never see and hear what kind dialogs in my heart with people, and how many of them.
The men like you don’t have honor and dignity at all, For the men like you people as musicians and audience just a stupid bastards witch you can sell and buy. You make money on work of other people. I hope so much that people who value and love their work and for who honor is not just money and contacts will make right decision from my situation."           http://www.discogs.com/sell/list?seller=Gizmex

I almost released an EP with Plusquam, but after interactions with Thomas I could not because he is a psycho and a terrible businessman.

His contracts that he sends out are exploitative nonsense and he doesn't answer questions about them, he just expects you to sign them and not ask questions.

Overall, the worst interactions I have ever had with any record label. Highly suggest to not do any business with Plusquam.            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

Recently, I was pretty much shocked by the number of mostly old labels now owned by Thomas. I don't know why is he buying them at all? Few of them were releasing mostly similar music.

The lesson from this thread is that Ektoplazm is the obvious choice for releasing new music.

Thomas Vitali has a rich dad who gives him money to buy labels. His label resides in Gruenwald, one of the rich suburbs of Munich, Germany...

@Makus, Ektoplazm is one of the choices, there are others...

It's interesting to see this thread revived.

And I still want the dishwasher sounds from Jacynth, but he has dissipated, I can't find him anymore :-(

The latest person before Willsanquil (whom I was successful in warning) I have unsuccessfully tried to warn was Johann, he released with Thomas Vitali, and his new album was never heard from again. Suffices to say that he was once a quite renowned Goa artist (Stranded)

Folks, another lesson from this thread is to warn your fellow artists, from bastards such as Thomas Vitali!!!
The more people shout it out, the more people will listen...

Btw. one of the three tracks (the one called Internet Security) from my ep Yawning has been released on at least two other comps, I think more, I have yet to see a full statement of the sales records or get paid
