my fav quote from Art of war yet is
It is only one who is thoroughly acquainted with the evils of war that can thoroughly understand the profitable way of carrying it on.
i remember my boss reading the managment spoof of Art of War and that too was quite nice
he started stating a one liner after all his mails.
one of them use to be-
"in times of Peace prepare for war"
he used this specially when he was writin mails to the sales dept.

The first rule in the art of war is to "gather your forces".
The second rule in the art of war is to "know your target".

We all have our own pace, and anyways, its always quality over quantity.

@ Karma - my take on Quality and Quantity... they both are equally imp... plus the most symbaotic relation would be when one wants more and other wants better
@ Acidity urf h2so4 - i like u the way u are with all the books u have read

Talking about books. Just finished around 70% of a book called "The Zahir" by Paul Coelho. It tells the story of an author abandoned by his beloved wife who becomes obsessed with understanding why she disappeared without a trace. Like his other book, Achemist, its about a person and his search for something very important in his like. Mostly its LOVE but there are additional themes of loss and obsession.
Googling on the book shows that it was banned in Iran and they confiscated around 100 copies. Now I wonder what was so radical about the book? I found the book to be very simple with no intention to harm anybody.....strange!

i love Paulo Coelho... from the Alchemist to eleven Minutes to Vironica wants to die, devil and miss prym all his book are so woman empowerising, so well thought off and beautifully written.
he has very different and grand take on woman symbolising that his mother, sister or anyother women in his life have had a strong influence on him.
i have not read Zahir but a friend tells me that it is beautifully written, he is talking about a man and his speration anxieties, i'd get the book as soon as am done with The world is Flat.
would wanna find out why a man is always so confident that he is in a wonderful relationship when women on the other hand in the same relationship are not happy, is it because of his conceited behavior or coz the women dont express themselves so well when in distress.

@sorceress: What an irony. I am gonna start "The World Is Flat" when I finish with Zahir and I have not read any Paul before except "The Alchemist"

Not much of that in Alchemist so I cant comment. But his books are indeed very personal and simple to read. You can actually connect to the zahirs story and think - o fcuk...that happened to me all with all our insecurities etc etc etc.
Zahir is indeed a grand and simple take on woman, love, obsession etc. but somehow I feel that its not upto the mark in the sense that its not breathtaking or must read. But then one to his own space and choice....

Aaah...I was thinking that somebody will take up this issue.
Its not actually the pages that matter (the thread "What is playing on in your computer" goes on for 80 pages), its the content. I think ifyou compare the number of words (that also not something like...killlargh.....PM plz), this thread beats down all other hands down. If anytime in the future, there is a comptt. like "Most populr thread of the year", we will win it for decades in straight. Like the Australian cricket team
Aptly this thread is in India section, the place where the Psy and Goa trance actually started So many ironies.....

this one topic is a serious reason to stay keep tuned on isra...
does the books helps or the more much you read the more you get confused?
dont you think that there is danger to get syntonized with the vibe of the author and loose your own?
or you think that the more you open your mind to much more views the more you are able to learn, understand, realise, rich your knowledge and be more ready to feel the union as you add them ,merge with the supreme being ,more prepared to receive each different or unknown spirit friendly with love and harmony...
I ask that because I read books that sometimes writing completely different and opposite views, and wonder to my self wich author is more right?
wich is the true truth?
always try to listen my own soul and let my vibe to decide but am I always listen to my soul,or fall in the trap of maya and ignorance?
when you follow the mind without the coresponding of the heart ,loose feeling...
when you follow the emotions of the heart without listen to the mind you loose logic...
when you love someone with blind mind, you could do mad things to satisfy you feelings...
when you see a sexy girl and follow your lust fantasy you do mad things without any heart feeling guide you...
so when you read a book you follow your heart feeling or your logic mind,to decide and choose what you trully believe?
a corperation of mind and heart together but, that is so difficult, how the mind listen to the heart and how the heart listen to the mind and find their common point to agree?
share your light please.

@gopendra
well bro 1 very personal question??
do u think that a point of view can be right or wrong (universally) ????
half glass filled of water or half glass is waterless both are the same aren't they???
but both have diffrence in seeing the same fact
reality is jus as u see it!!!!
and that's the beauty of this world for me
i jus read to see the world (point) from the others eyes jus makes me feel there is no reality
peace
