With all the fcuk ups happening in Goa this year. I am thinking of buying 4-5 books like Autobio and go to Goa. Read them on the beaches. Maybe I am destined to have a peaceful new year

I remember words of a great sage at this point in my life, what he used say is about the state of mind required to walk on the path of sprituality. The words r - Vishyon se jo hove udasa, parmarth ki ja man aasha, ghar santan priti nahi jaake, khoje phire saadho sang jaake.
What it means is that, a person who is fed up of tasting worldly pleasures through his sense organs, n who only has longing to walk the path of sprituality. Who does not have attachment towards worldly affairs, family n personality establishment. When a person has this state of mind, n ready to tread the path of sprituality, then even masters search for this kind of a student.
When the student is ready, then the master arrives, but the intense desire n geniune will should be there.
It is not advisable for a person with weak n negative frame of mind to do meditation, coz in the process of meditation, the will power increases, n whatever is the latent desire in the subconscious also gains power, which can be harmful for the sadhak.
If the person has any negativity in his mind it increases, hence its always been adviced that purity of mind n thoughts r very essential before doing anykind of mediation. The law of demand n supply functions in this universe supported by nature. So as the demand so will be the supply.

somehow i feel...wen i read...theres someone sittin around me n guiding me....
and im the kina person who feels for things.... in the sense... that i wana feel those things to realise them in person.... nothing against reading though... i think there r a lot of books which have changed ppls lives...
for eg. not on those spiritual lines... but in the alternate sense... 'The Alchemist' made me look at omens and believe it or not..they do exist.
'Train to Pakistan' - Khushwant Singh i read that book long back... and it was all bout realisation.
Spiritual or not. My reality is my spirituality.
I live my perception.
U guys karma cola... sorceres.. its a one nice thread ive seen gino on really long..never really peeped into it..

that is very true ,someone have to be ready and spiritualy prepared before starting to do meditation,a kind of inituition from a christic person must be done to give the permision to the sadhaka to be able to accept peacefully that higher state of mind...we have to purify body mind soul first before we start sadhana...
I just ended the 26 chapter from autobiography of a yogi,Kriya yoga, very interesting how one minute meditation on Kriya yoga is able to increase days of spiritual life...

very very true.
we also have to consider a fact that no human is born defect free... we are all here to ward off the negatives that have been brewing with in us... to reap what we sowed earlier... all to become better and more evolved beings.
the realisation happens as one takes the first step towards realising.
i faced a hard time not deciding that am not doing hard drugs anymore but living with the reality that i will not do them... for temptations surround u always.
so prepared is when i decide that am prepared.
Ravan was Shiva's greatest devotee and chanted his names for Decades...
finally when he saw the Holy figure himself he asked him to make him immortal... Shiva gave him 10 heads... 10 lives... and soon took a birth to kill him for he knew that all comes to an end... everything changes. Change is the only truth the only constant.

@sorceress - Very true, whatever has a beginning has a end, as far as material n physical creation is concerned. But there is something which never had a beginning n will never end, which is immortal, eternal,omnipresent, or i must say the essence.
Another fact, Ravan was a learned scholar, n with great intutive powers, he was great tapasvi, with controlled mind, he knew that the lord has incarnated on earth in the form of Ram, n his only way to get liberated in this birth is getting killed by his holy hands. Even Ram knew about it, n even sita knew about it.
Ravan purposely abducted sita, but never touched her, he could have done that, n when he realised that his time has come, he waged war with Ram, n willingly got killed by his holy hands.
Great souls have the knowledge of present, past n future, but never intefere with the flow of nature n its outcome, they always live above them, but when neccessary, they intervene n guide deserving souls.

the essense as u call it is also not the same it too is constantly evolving...
Darkness they say is reality but that too fades away even with a small candle.
so just a spark is sometimes more than enough to creat a huge fire which evenually would get transformed into heat which becomes energy in some else form.
here i am once again curious(thirst for knowledge is insatiable hence i know infinite never exsited) - what is this essense that u talk about.... it is DNA from Darwins evolution theory which gets passed on from species to species as they evolve continuosly, the sole ingrediant which makes matter coem together to formulate some thing living.

Many people attribute to the recent spurt in natural calamities (Katrina, another hurrucane whose name I forgot, bombings, earthquake in Pak and India) to the ever increasing negative energy and thoughts prevailing in current world - war, hatred, animosity etc etc etc?
Do you think they are related?
