If im not wrong, and I might definitely be isnt Khardung La the second highest pass? Don't think Rohtang is that high. I did the drive up through Manali to Leh and the roads get much higher and so intense. Theres one side of a mountain with 26 hair pin turns. Would love to head back on an Enfield but that seems like a very very difficult mission.
I found a copy of Autobiography of a Yogi in my library yesterday, think this copy was my grand fathers so its like from, 1956 the year it came out. Crazyness! There's nothing like a huge library to look through for a nice long summer reading list.
I was thinking about signing for whirling classes, like the Sufi Whirling Dervishes. Sounds pretty relaxing, and I've always been up for learning about the Sufis, not to step on any toes but I figure the schools of religious thought that break away from the mainstream always have developments and improvements that appeal to the ones searching for more clues and answers. Whatcha think?

@melloncollie
buddy did kaza till sumdo and leh when i had a zen and ur right for khardung la is the second highest couldnt grab all ma stuff on an enfield lol ,
the schools for religious alternate studies i dunno but i guess if one really is searching for answers then well they are already within its going into ur own self not searching it out somewhere ............ the language may vary but the crux is the same ............ happiness, love, selflessness and selfishness too ( dont mind my typing , already on a leaf ) still learning the answers in life without having to search them but yea till the time i kept banging my head with whateva appealed prima facie as the red book of wisdom itt actually made religion or spirituality more complexed a thing to understand ................ its better to learn about ur own self ur own demons and ur angels and then the world just starts opening like a rose bud with lotsa thorns attached ..........hey i guess its too much of typing ........... am tripping ... anyways its what i think with whateva lil experiences i hav gone thru and ofcourse each one of us have our own universe
bye fer now bros
peace

@jabba. Those roads are way too fucked up for a bike. My car broke down, and then a tiny land slide started. Very Intense. Drove back through Kashmir, so I got the best of both drives. Thing is driving up I didnt drive around Ladakh much, wanted to head to the Lake, Penong So? Something like that.
Can't wait to go back. No way I'd ever fly. Theres a crazy bathroom up there on some pass on the drive and its apparently the highest bathroom in the world? Sign up everything. How cool is that?
@devil Twenty one and still not reading? Damn thats a shit load of wasted time. Every non reader that claims he or she is a non reader pretty much gives up by the time they hit twenty. Its a pretty juvenile attitude. Even my brother cracks open a book and shocks me.
I think Catcher in the Rye... JD Salinger. That pretty much changed it all for me. And it converted a person who swore he'd never be caught dead reading...you know who you are
If he's a toker ... Mmm. Dope Stories, Howard Marks. It'll definitely catch his attention and its all short stories so easier to get through. Good luck, I spend hours in book stores. Hours...when i'm blazed its like days go by...

agreed in one point because if you start yoga for supernatural powers there is no luck for progress...maybe after years specific spiritual practise with deep intension pure heart and without ego
would reach such a state that you could do things more then the usual normal actions...
When Sri Sri Anandamurti(BABA)was on the jail the goverment paid three times mighty assasins to murder him in his cell...
...the first one didnt accept to kill him although the money they were givin him because he could kill the face of god as he said...the second one accepted the money, when he arrived outside of BABA 'S cell BABA was walkin up and down the walls...
the assasin scared so much that he couldn kill him...and the third one the most dangerous paid killer in india when he arrived outside the cell and saw BABA in his eyes he lost his mind with so much anger and hatred completely insane by madness...
.........BABA reached such a state that he were able to use supernatural powers...like Budha who liberated before his death, managed to live his bodie for a while from the gate of liberation(third eye)and then came back inside again to explain and share that wise knowledge...or like milarepa the great yogi of Tibet who wre doing black magick to kill his enemies and then lived in Hiumlayan caves with non-stop yogic practises for much years,he managed to attend liberation before his death flying up to the skies without even leave his bodie on earth...

@psy_boy
assanas are dangerous when exersices are not given from an authorized yoga teacher, dont never try to do assana poses by reading instructions from a book!!!attention they might cause damage without folowing teachings,be carefull guys...
I see you want to liberate your soul from the body bondages of the flesh...awake you r spirit control your breath(pranayama only by a vegeterian one otherwise no luck of progress)and your energy fields, meet your deeper higher self from inside(microcosm)and then merge it with outside(macrocosm) focused in one bidu point ...concetrate in the power of mantra...
why mantra?
because mantras are spoken from the greatest gurus and produce a certain wave frequency sound vibration, works like magic spells...help to calm wild thought waves to became more straight and balanced...one only sacred mantra syllabe is able to mean anything...one only syllabe wich contains so many different meanings, ideas,values,principles...inhale ...exhale...in-exhale together...and then you became the mantra meaning...the merge of union with the supreme entity..."I AM THAT....I AM...THAT...."
just start with the center of heart to find more love and then search by your own to find which spiritual path feets better to you...

@ Gopendra
Mantras are good but that would be verbelisation... memorisatiom instead one could just be aware of his breath... which is more universal.. the ultimate truth that we all are the same for we all breath.
we all are one organism and soon as we realise this we get connected as we are connected we can make a diff.
@ Psy_boy

Ommmmmmmm
The idea of kundalini derives from Tantric "yoga" and refers to
a supposed "energy" that lies latent in average people at the
base of the spine. By practicing specific yogic exercises, one
supposedly can "awaken" this kundalini, which in turn
leads to severe alterations in consciousness including the
onset of psychic abilities and possibly conferring enlightenment.
However, what strikes me is the overwhelming similarity between
reports by people who have undergone kundalini awakening
and what occurs to people who have taken hallucinogenic
ds. According to Charles Tart, both of these states
can be considered altered states of consciousness (ACS) [1].
However, accounts of the subjective qualities of both these ACS
show that the phenomenology of both states overlap to a
considerable degree. Table 1 summarizes the effects of
kundalini awakening at physiological, sensory, emotional,
cognitive and spiritual levels. These effects come about
through the specific exercises of kundalini yoga, which are
often breathe control exercises, though there are
antectodal accounts of the spontaneous occurrence of these
symptoms in people.
Table 1,
associated with kundalini awakening when under the influence
of psychedelic ds.
(Table 1):
EFFECTS OF AWAKENED KUNDALINI
I.Physiological level:
A. Motor
1. Spontaneous performance of asanas (postures) even if
the aspirant knows no Hatha yoga. (@,#)
2. Spontaneous twisting and/or revolving of the body and
limbs, dance-like gestures. (#)
3. Spontaneous movement of hands in formal Indian dance
patterns. (#)
*4. Trembling of the body (#)
B. Non-Motor
*1. Sensations of heat or cold. (@),(#)
2. Constriction of breathing. (#)
3. Automatic breathing of various kinds. Temporary stoppage
of breath. (@)
*4. Spontaneous laughter, tears of joy (@);
automatic/involuntary laughing or crying. (#)
*5. Creeping sensations in the spine (#)
*6. Tingling sensations through the body. (#) Itching or
crawling sensations under the skin. (@)
*7. Alterations in sexual desire (usually decreased)
II. Sensory (Special Senses)
*1. Sensory hallucinations: audio, visual, taste and smell.(@)
*2. Audio hallucinations: humming, rushing water, tinkling,
bell sounds, etc. (#)
*3. Closed-eye perceptions: dots, lights, flames,
geometrical shapes, pure white light. These may be perceived
as visions of saints or deities. (#)
4. Utterances of deformed sounds. (@) Spontaneous chanting,
singing or vocal noises. (#)
5. Feelings that the body has become extremely huge or small
(anima) (#)
III. Emotional
*1. Extreme feelings of ecstasy and divine bliss. (@)
*2. Extreme feelings of fear. (@)
*3. Enhanced sense of empathy
*4. Loss or dissociation of emotions
IV. Cognitive/Spiritual:
*1. Recall past lives. (@)
*2. Enhanced intuition and psychic powers (siddhis). (@)
*3. Feelings of unseen guidance and protection. (@)
*4. Emptying of the mind. (#)
*5. There is an experience of being a witness in the body.(#)
*6. Questions may arise in the mind and be spontaneously
answered (revelation or enhanced insight). (#)
*7. The hidden meaning behind the (Indian) scriptures are
revealed. (@)
*8. Mystical experience
Table 1: List of Effects of Awakened Kundalini. Note; (*)
lines of the list are attributes identified in the
psychedelic drug survey. Lines marked (@) are from [2] and
lines marked (#) are from [3].
D effects fell into
five categories: physiological, sensory, emotional,
cognitive and spiritual.
and i strongly believe if u can control what's happenin to u at that time and concentrate on the supreme power a lot can happen.
if u wanna concentrate that hard u gotta meditate a lot first so u can control those enrgy levels.
be cautious while performing yoga assanas.

have we read PSYCHONAVIGATION by JOHN PERKINS.....?
Killer book....its all about positive attitude and accepting the power of nature rather than trying to control it.......resulting into sumthing like going into the future and comin back and then implementing the dream in real life to change ur destiny....its an age old technique practised by the Java Pirates...to navigate thru the sea...without even a compass...!
The book's definitely worth a read...!
