Here is something:
Openheimer recited the sloka from Gita about the thousand suns part when they tested the A-Bomb.
Second Gita says, God exists in Energy and Mass form.
Isnt tht exactly wht quantum physics says about electron!!!!
BTW, if u think of earth as a "Pale Blue Dot", u will exactly get the meaning of spirituality.

@ oum
Hitchhikers Guide to Galaxy sounds good… may be it’ll be my first scfi book
For I remember getting the voyager series but could not get thru it.
To kill a mocking bird is truly a great book it was the first drifter I ever read, have u seen the movie on the same… it’s very well made. Though I expected the characters to look different
@Mr. Karma
Dune series
Scientology… wow now that rings a bell…
Do let me know if u need the book
Fountain head is an amazing read… Any Rand is brilliant
I wanted to be like Haward for a very long time… he he he the way looked thru people and all.
But eventually lived like Dominique who liked the idea of retraining pleasure… then even explored William for a long time… left a bad taste though.
Am very curious now that I know not many have read Catch 22 it no doubt is one of the greatest books ever written.
I shall the movie based on “the monk who sold his farrari”
Chariots of fire…. Hmmm I think I found the book I was looking for… thanks a million.
I was reading some translation of rig veda… really liked them a whole lot though understanding those things is a diff ball game…

@Mystic Messiah
Definitely, next time im down i'll get the facts straight. Dont want to end up at some bullshit clinic in Poona for the rajneesh's...
The 'Monk who sold his ferrari' is part of those type of books which are contradictory sometimes. A little 'preachy' at times and at others 'simple'.
@Sorceress
Animal farm is good. I enjoyed readin it. U need some chilled out books , not everyday i can read some heavy stuff. I staretd Tolkiien after i finished reading the Koran and it was needed.
there's another nice book i read called 'the life of Pi'. Diffrent, somwhat stagnant at times, but i liked it.
And as for Ayn Rand characters.. I used to be like "bhendchod, why cant i meet somebody like the Taggerty woman in Atlas Shrugged"
Somebody mentioned Somerset Maugham...
But all in all.. I wont deny it... Im lookin forward to the new " Hari- Patar"... Quidditch is some psychedelica for real...

Somebody mentioned Somerset Maugham...
|

i dont know who it was but Maugham was a great storyteller. im not much of a classics person, usually stick to very contemporary stuff but somehow maugham's themes transcend times and cultures. his writing always has a very unique style that is on the darker side but you can get quite immersed in it. 'of human bondage' is a quite a read and so is 'razor's edge' and if you read his works you'll find theres a consistent theme of having characters that have this rebellious streak in them.
but maugham is just about the only truly classic author that i read. mostly i like my beat literature...gimme me kerouac and burroughs anytime....oh and irvine welsh! the guy cracks me up...who hasn't read trainspotting?
