aren't these reminders great?
so nice to see that it turned out this good
when the feedback is this good, one no longer regrets missing the event, but just basks in the happiness of the others           Load Universe into Cannon. Aim at Brain. Fire.

thanks orbicles. For these pics I used a pentax dslr with a nikon flash; manual exposure (this sucks) and manual focus (speeed). I just pre-set the focus to around 1 meter, the aperture to F8, and snap away!

once again, Theo and company bringing us the kind of party that should have happened a long time ago in this city...it was pretty surreal to have this happen as it did, in a park in the middle of the "ghetto", the crowd steadily growing throughout the day, as well as people's grins...but my favorite part was seeing the reaction of the locals...the whole event seemed to spread a calmness over an otherwise rough neighborhood, and some of those kids couldn't get enough of the music!...needless to say, this capped off what was a refreshing weekend for trance in NY

I think the neighborhood deserves some credit too, for being chill and openminded about a bunch of kids who show up one random morning and start playing music at high volume in their park, judging us by our actions and not the fact that we are not from the neighborhood. In my experience that neighborhood is pretty chill in general, it may be low income, but it doesnt feel particularly tense to me either. Ive never had any sort of negative experience there, so I dont think we can take credit for spreading calmness.

We just came and were us, the locals came out and were just who they are, and it worked out great, we all came together and had a beutiful day, no more, no less. That is the essence of the beauty of Sunday. Now the challange is to focus on and hold on to that love and live by it.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who came out and helped make Prog in the Park such a ridiculously good time this past Sunday! This was truly a communal creation, and we would also like to acknowledge the following individuals for their support:

Aaron, Anrei, Ben, Dandraver, Guy, Mayur, Pat, Pedro, Ron, Sahil, Stas, Steve, Vlad, Zev, the entire 28thday and psyNY crew, all the DJs and producers, the NYC parks department, NYPD Community Affairs, everyone who helped us set up and tear down, and the local Brooklyn community. Also extra special thanks to Joanne for negotiating with Mother Nature some unexpected beautiful weather!

Summer may be winding down, but we have at least one more trick up our sleeve before the indoor migration begins. 28thday is headed back to the beach on September 9th -- mark your calendars and stay tuned for details!

Wow.

I am still letting the whole experience sink in as I am sitting in another airport on my way to Tokyo. The 28thday crew really pulled off something special. I am so happy I got to participate in the event and in a part of the permitting process. I fully believe that the integration with the locals was a next level expression of the universal language of music. Thank you to all who made this event possible, and I hope to see you all again soon!

xtra thanks to: Theo, Mayur, Vlad, Tony, Marissa & Nicole for making my stay in NY a real blast! You really have something special here.           music and tour dates at...
