Astrix really left a stamp on the new generation trance music, so i guess there's no question about it that he holds the crown in it's genre...imo all that came after is a cheap copy of his sound and style. In the whole saga that came after him he has the best production in his music. I truelly hope that this "new generation" blows over fast and that the artists can be a bit more creative instead of takin existing hit formulas from other artists. Innovate don't immitate !!

ya but listen to the new Psydrop CD.
melodys better than Astrix IMO, and more powerfull. just sound better.

I love both of them....but...I prefer Psydrop, each track are a killer & blow the dance floor off...
good lines & full on sound great kicks & groove. |

But don't forget that Astrix was the first one to do those stuff,
and it's much harder to innovate than to immitate,

Ok ofcourse the credit should go to avi. but really most of avi's trax are the same just different melody.
listen to psydrop trax every track is another story.

IMHO... he did it first, sure..
but is there a patent to it?
I mean how innovative can u get with trance.. specialy when it comes to most straight forward 4/4 kick beat and rolly bassline..
the melodies yes.. astrix did come up with his sound...
but other people have just heard it and
evolved from it. |
