it has been disappointing (to say the least) that someone who i had looked up to in my early raving days because of AP, and worked with since he came back to the UK, could turn and do a huge backstab on the trance scene in london as a whole, and a few people in particular. unfortunately the more i got to know mike the more i saw an unstable person. i agree totally with Dave (hello sir) regarding the illness. mike if you are ill my thoughts are very much with you.

mike did seem to me to be troubled by ego. coming back to a place where he ran a big night at the time of there only being a few, to find an scene overrun and difficult to penetrate, i think he expected recognition for what astral phoenix was once. when it didnt come he made some very strange decisions.
wherever he is i hope he is content. and well.

well i find it refreshing to see the people that had contact with mike whilst in no way supporting his actions having the compassion and humanity to recognise that this action was probably taken as a result of his mental state
i dont think they could in any way be described as the actions of a sane person
we know he did a wrong 'un - given time he will probably fully realise that himself
in the meantime i cant think of any useful function being served by persecuting him and as Plank (steve woods) said elsewhere and i feel obliged to quote him "it saddens me to see so many people thinking they are Rambo's harder little brother"
now what is that expression "to err is human, to forgive is godlike?" or something |

I'm no God to forgive anything...although I can easily forget.
Mike's for sure not well.
I always had the impression that he was full of himself, but at the end of the day I can understand him.
He just came back from wherever it was and thought that the scene would be waiting for him to takeover...he is that ill.
When he eventually realized about the fact that 95% of the partygoers are totally unaware of his existence and therefore ignored him, he decided to make more Astral Phoenix...here's the, pathetic, result.
Wherever he is I wish him a full recovery...but I know that might take a really long while.

I'm female, living out in Berkeley CA, I met Mike years ago, he played at our party... I think you should stop being paranoid, I'm sure Mike has better things to do, like concentrate on his illness, rather than post things here.
People like you begin to destroy a scene.

I'm sorry to see that this scene at least in the uk is going down.... Parties now a days are not what they use to be. their is obviously a war going on between party promoters and its as dirty as the tones of rubish music that this scene has been inflicted with. Where is the soul?
I use to love mike's parties and many others. But I've been to less and less parties just because I don't like them anymore. I'm shure their is some good stuff still but its rare in my opinion. As for squat parties they do look like full on techno squat parties ... now a days.. (in london) I used to know a few squat parties that were just awsome.
I hope these scene will wake up and continue to produce some real parties with some real people. and that include the crowd. |

Wow, what a thread!
My first thoughts is why the thread starter "Fallen Angel" is now an inactive user? Has he/she been banned? I would like to reply to him/her personally.
Secondly, yes it's true i have been unwell (with cancer) for which i am still awaiting treatment (do you want proof?), although i am confused as to why this was brought up on a public forum!
Thirdly, my actions in notifying the police was due to the Brazilian organisers "VENOM" misleading party goers that they were in "association" with LGP, Liquid Records, Tribe Of Frog, and others when infact they had no permission to do so. They mislead partygoers that they were organising an official "charity event" in aid of OXFAM, when this charity had no knowlege of this, and that ALL money taken on the door would go to this charity. More importantly they put partygoers lives at risk by blocking fire exits, dealt with gangster who held crew at hostage, and from what i last heard there were people beaten up with bassball bats, and police turning up with guns!!!!
@ Greg lunar. You called me a racist for wanting not to compete with foreigners in my own country. Quite a strange accustaion considering the huge number of foriegn artists and record lables i have worked with in the past including south africans, french, germans, israelis, etc...
@ Justin Chaos. We never met, although we always had good vibes when communicating privatly, so i am sadend by your public comments without having spoken with me first.
Psy forum knew all the facts, yet took no action. However they agreed to help with any investigation.
I was then banned from the psy-forum with no explanation.
When an influencial public forum acts as judge, jury and executioner while the accused has been gagged then you can be sure the "established" scene is corrupt.

Then he told me if he does come back he will do parties up north were there are no Brazilians or Italians, doing squat parties.......(slightly racist in my mind)
