Hello! Twatting him one will only get you into trouble and will not actually solve anything. It will however get you a rep as a violent person who's not nice to be around. Wake up!

Keep it real.

I agree with this dude.

This is the psy community, not the D&B rude- boy scene.

Oh... Colin, I have been going to parties since 96, I have certainly seen a change in the scene, be it at parties or festivals, it has sadly lost it's old vibe. Tysen st, the droom and planet angel were such beautiful places...

Living out in California, has restored some of that past magical(ness).

I wish Mike all the best in getting better. I hope he takes the time to reflect upon his past actions and learn from this experience.

Love and respect.

Like colin I also spent a lot of time from the summer onwards last year chatting with mike on MSN prior to this incident

It is all well and good for people to suggest the things that they are but from the viewpoint of someone who has either nothing to lose or nothing gain from saying this then here is my take

Mike returned to the UK from Goa in a fragile state of mind - he attempted to relaunch himself as a promoter in London and found that like others before him in the very recent past there was no way he could compete against the squat crews who have done a number on legitimate parties in London

He at various times had almost taken this action previously but was talked out of it

I am sad to say that I have to agree in many ways with the view expressed by In A Nutshell - the UK psy scene is in dissarray or worse and this is due in no small part to the issues surrounding this incident

I personally feel the stress and back stabbing finally pushed Mike over the edge - I also personally feel that some of the people pointing the finger should actually be pointing at themselves as being the driving force behind the causation of Mikes actions

I would like to point out at this moment that IN NO WAY am I defending him or his actions - I too feel that was so wrong - but what I am doing is trying to open up people's eyes to how this was caused to happen

Last Saturday night a Psy Trance squat party was torn apart by 2 local kiddy gangs kicking off inside the location

This is just as UNACCEPTABLE as was Mikes behaviour - locked and chained fire exits on a building are also UNACCEPTABLE - 3 security that ran at the first sight of trouble is also UNACCEPTABLE

I am not naming names or pointing figures but you know who you are and isnt it about time you started to realise the damage you are instrumental in causing to the scene in the UK?

Now you might not care much as when it is finally destroyed you can return to the scene in your own country

Now lets see who starts in on personal attacks on me here and reveals themselves as a part of the people I have alluded to in this post because this place isnt psy-forum and I cannot see the moderators here tolerating it all

This is a point being bought out for DISCUSSION not for starting a flame-war

i would have to disagree with Dave that the parties have got worse(the music has got worse globally, that i would say)..

there have always been good and shit parties.greedy promoters, non greedy ones.thick promoters,'on it' ones.'experianced promoters ,inexperianced ones.

Don't forget underground non licensed venues have been around for a long time...pagan.liquid.wildthings.future collective to name a few..There are many more parties now in london so a greater chance of something going wrong..but very rarely does this happen.

with the smoking ban people feel their freedom has been removed more than b4 and therefore to do what they want comes mainly with non club parties.....but certain things are removed when they go to these parties..ie/guaranteed safety.

But DON'T FORGET trouble is everwhere. there's very often problems outside nightclubs, inside nightclubs, outside pubs, inside pubs..at open parties..even house parties get gate crashers causing problems..some places handle it better than others..
if ever you have worked on the door or know door staff, this is what they would say.
obviously when things do kick off and problems arise you do need experianced security to deal with it and the organisers who are on it sort the situation b4 it begins..or have the ability to keep it away from the punters if it does...

i'm sorry to hear that things went wrong the other day..but this does and can happen anywhere.
if i remember correctly though..much of the bad vibes did arise from the return of the 'Police Informer' Astral Mike(Blade Runner) and his slating on the psy-forum of organisations which he disaproved of or felt threated his club nights..i don't remember hearing bad vibes and slander like this b4..but we'll leave all that for the psy-forum.

after saying all this though..once a grass...always a grass..and Mike does deserve a knuckle sarny..(and thats from a peaceful non violent person, funny huh)..

Don't panic about the U.K scene,it'll always be at the forefront of the cutting edge music world..its a freaky island thing.

There's also a big wide world of the UK beyond the M25 (shock horror) .. so all the (understandable) talk of the current issues of the "UK scene" on here are really of the London scene...

anyway...

as you were...

I certainly think that promoters and Dj's have more of an ego, this is why the UK Psy-scene has lost its sparkle.

Mike was trying to be competetive like most of the Djs and club promoters you see...

Back in day, like 10 years ago, nobody seemed to care about status and 'who's better than who."

Anyone with recoreds could play at parties and because people did not give a shit too much, the atmosphere at parties was electric! People naturally got things right in terms of: Security, cloak room and amongst other things...

The Californians have got it right, the best parties I have been to in 10 years and I put it down to people being rather humble and not having a "holier-than-thou" attitude.

The uk psy scene should be re-named to "Trance-enders", it's become a soap opera.

I agree with Dave, Mike must of been provoked in some way to just go and do what he did, he was probably angry and sadly did not take the time to realise how his actions could disrupt a whole scene and provoke anger and outrage.

Compassion and respect, there seems to be a lack of it.

Everytime I tune-in there always seems to be people writing nasty things about people or a party they went to...

Keep Smiling!

According to Mike himself: "i really dont give a shit anymore about those invloved in what is a self indulgent, corrupt and ugly scene anymore." Furthermore in the same sentence he explicitly links his 'not caring' with the diagnosis of his illness.
