Alright I already heard some unbelivible stories "when the artists weren't playing was because they were taken to an island where their was just a party for vips, inc the artists and djs themselves." <- unbelivible lolol but I also heard that in some indoor parties they have a private chill-out room for the artists and vips (and yes this is in psytrance parties, I'm not talking about one of those posh clubs) <- which could be belivible. my question here is where are the artists and djs when they are not playing? I hardly see them in the dancefloor, dancing, and its not like they have 37490219842 parties to play in that night so they gotta keep moving or is it because some (not all, maybe none) think they are to good for the dance floor?. I would also like to know if u guys already heard some of these unbelivible stories and some belivible ones as well. depends how gullible u are really

Well, a friend of mine has a night club, in which i've worked a couple of times, when he was short of people, well, that club, is not really my type of place, so i didn't went there much, and 1 day he did a great great great party, that he called a rave, but try to explain to him that he had to have about 20,000 more people, and open sky to call it a rave... anyhow, he brought some ass kicking Dj's to that party, and in that day, i helped him to organize a vip room, that wasn't really active before, u should have seen it!!!
A pure chill out room, with see-through tables (well, thats for other things besides music...), carpets all around, but of course the vip people were all of his good friends, the Dj's that played, and the people they brought with them, there were about 70 people in that room, and it really looked like small party inside the party, it was that good in fact, that the second Dj that got up to play, couldn't wait until he will finish his set, just yelling around "would someone switch for a sec? i just want to take a quick run to the vip room...."

Something else on that matter, was a not so well organized party, that after we entered the vip section once, we didn't wanna go back there, it's as if they ran out of money to decarate it a bit...

And Dj's do dance around, sometimes i even got scared that they gonna kick that elbow running loose in my face.... but of course its understandable that after playing a set, hearing more electro isn't that healthy, neither the less if the Dj playing after u just sucks....           When the fuck r u gonna get sick, of that lousy TECHNOSHIT?!

well never heard such stories , but i don´t doubt, that artists have vip treatment...well, but there are exceptions and i think they do it often...i saw once raja ram dancing in the dance floor with people and interact with the people, well in the end we see that they are people just like us...vip exixtx but...the dance floor also rocks and they like 2 have fun also...try 2 check in the promotional threads a link 2 a sneaky preview of vision quest gathering 2003...tell me something later...           ...

VIP rooms? If you call a cold boring room behind the stage a VIP room then by all means do it.. There's a huge difference between a VIP room in a High-Class House club or commercial club and some psy/progressive party with a small room behind the stage

True that Kristian!

Sometimes though there are decent backstage areas at psy-trance events as well.

And yes its important for a dj to have a backtage area to chill out before and after a set, it doesnt mean that you couldnt go to the dancefloor sometimes too!

Travelling around is sometimes very exhausting work, and people at parties sometimes just too much to listen to if youre really tired.

for me i gues it is realy dipends how good is the dj pleyng after me ,some tims its realy good so i dance alot, but this duas not hapend often , most off the tims its hard to get in to the mud of dancing when u go to so much partias.
abut vip room ,well somtims it is realy nice for the pepole that work hard for u so u cen enjoy to have some prayveci in a relitivli not so crowded space so i gues in some surcumstenses it is axeptebule.

I once thought about this while in a festival... and I said to myself: where in the face of the world would I want to be if psytrance is what I love? and the anwser was 'right there' in the dancefloor, or in the waterfalls... with everyone else! Cuz that's the gist of it -- the marrow...

But when I asked myself where would I want to sleep or eat... and I looked at the nice place where the artists slept and ate... wow, that's really nice! Another nice thing in my memory was seeing our friends Banzi and Riktam flying in the helicopter over our heads in the dancefloor....

but to me, the "higher spirit" dancefloor artist was mr. Stephane from Bamboo Forest... what a energy that guy has and is very very friendly to everyone enjoying the shanti atmosphere (and the chicks) in the dancefloor!

Mr. God Simon Posford, however, did not adventure around us... (good for him coz some people would freak out) but instead, after travelling first class and playing his live+dj-set at Trancendence, he went to the beach in Bahia and spent 9 days at an expensive hotel and God knows what................he did there!           cna't find it

When most of what u do on a daily basis is hearing kikdrums and basslines and loops and synthchords, then I wouldn't mind on a weekend to see a movie or something. When I started making this music 7 years ago, I woudnt think about me not dancing, since that what I loved to do so much since the early ninetees, but huh - as the saying goes -

The shoemaker many times goes barefoot

in hebrew it sounds much better I believe but the point is clear..

Never the less there are certain sets that I hear and appeal to me so I dance, but definitely the passion for the dancefloor is not what it have been

About the VIP rooms - never thought of myself as a celebrity or something, don't like discriminating in any kind, but in a big and crowded paries is always good a backroom to rest before the gig, and have some nice time           A man with a "master plan" is often a woman

I am a bit tired of this "star" label we have seen in our scene the later years. Yes artists do music and DJ's play the music and so what? The real stars are those that dance hour after hour at the dancefloor and make the parties a nice place to go to.

It's a bit too much to have DJ's going over a party in a Helicopter

Of course it can be very hard to travel a lot and believe me I have been to my share of many parties where all I could think about was a nice soft bed. I always had to play late mornings and not all parties was that good so it was quite hard sometimes to wait through a long long night. That's why it's so nice with a "VIP" room (I prefer to call it backstage) where you can chill for a while. But most of the time those rooms are full of people that have endless questions about how you make music, what gear you use, what you think about this and that ect ect. And believe me those questions very fast become too similar and quite boring

So to sum it up VIP rooms can at times be nice but 95% of the time they are boring rooms with too many people.

I get the feeling that some people tend to think that VIP rooms are private lounges with free bars, floating Champain and caviar, sexy women doing lab dance or riding the pole on stage and famous celebrities chilling with the start DJ's and artists.... Believe me it's as far from reality as it gets !

And it's for sure not Hollywood...
