Just a quick note...

GMS is not playing at burning man 2004, they got booked for the Solstice festival in Japan (you can check the agenda at spunrecords.com)

spunrecords.org calendar doesn't have any bookings for any Spun artists between August 21st and Sept 4-5. The Solstice Festival is Sept. 4-5, which is the same weekend as the last weekend of BM.

would be nice to see some other Spun artists at BM maybe? or it might be just a wild rumor, eh?

ah well.

there was a date marked on the spun calendar from aug 30 to sept 6 but they removed and added the solstice party.

maybe if we all write Spun records and tell them to send their other DJs....! we want earthling and shanti!

it's a dissapointment for sure@! I have never been to burningman, but I heard it needs some real help in the psy-trance department. A couple trancer friends went for the first time last year, and had a good time, but didn't come accross ANY psytrance on any systems to speak of!

hmmm.. I've deejayed and danced to psytrance at BM every single year I've gone - including last year at Trance Village, Sol System, Xara, MagicGlasses, etc etc. To not find ANY takes real talent..

I hear there's going to be psytrance at the HeebeeGeebees this year, finally.

also Psytribe is coming from LA
a bunch of DJs and artists from Calgary, Colorado, Pennsylvania, and Virginia
and many many others

so let's stop bitching already and make something happen, allright?

I'll be there, CDs in hand, ready to rock a few camps. I realize I'm very little known on this list, but I have been developing a nice little following this year with the burner crowd.

See ya on the playa!

As some people have already pointed out, there is no official "psytrance stage" at Burning Man. There is only what people want to do for themselves. There are usually several psytrance camps. Last year there were at least two big psytrance sound systems and a lot of smaller ones dedicated specifically to psytrance. Burning Man is not a music festival with advertised acts and organized stages. If you are the kind of person who wants everything planned out, don't go to Burning Man.

In my camp (Super Lucky Camp, citizens of Asylum Village) last year we had a 700W system I brought mainly for our own pleasure, but other people came by and played on it. No-one complained about our system. But we did have to work things out with the deadheads across the street (who were also blasting music) and the drum camp down the street... This year I expanded the system with subs and two more cabinets per side for the rear.
We told burning man that we have 1500 watts (actually we have much more power available if we choose to use it), and they didn't ask us to move. So I don't beleive there is a 300 watt limit. There's just a limit on how much you piss off your neighbors before you get into problems.

BTW we will have open decks 4pm-8pm every day starting Monday.. if you want to play on our system come around with your CD's, records, laptop or whatever and we will give you some time. It doesn't have to be psytrance. But if you play hiphop we will kick you off
We're having a party Thursday night and at least one other night we're having an afterparty for the camp next door... If you want to play the party, come down and play earlier and get to know us first. Of course you can just come and say hi too.. visitors welcome. We may have other time slots but it all depends on what we want to do.

We are still Super Lucky Camp, still in Asylum Village. Asylum will be loacted around 7:00 & Esplanade, we will be in one of the back corners, just ask for Super Lucky.

If you are running a system let me know ahead of time where you're camp is (email me here) and I will come down and play in your camp and vice versa. I would love to get a little dj exchange program going

So I keep hearing people say the PsyTribe gang from LA will be there. But where? I'm looking at the list of camps right now. Are they part of a larger camp?

Also, is Fungus Funk really going to burning man this year or is that just a rumor? I would love to see them play if that is true.

On the first page of this thread, 8th post down, posted by psunspot - "didnt i see somewhere that fungus funk and kindzaza are coming as well?"

I just wanted to know if that was true or just a rumor.
