Prosect: Look as a lawyer i think Elysium Project is right its better for you as an artist register your music in the Acum, because in the future is there any legal problem you will have protection.
Regarthing what Detox said, i really think he is talking from a Label owner point of view, the most important thing for him is profit.

DETOX I have all respect for you and also my good old friend Johnny but your simple wrong here.
It's of course your choice if you dont want to work with artists that are members of those mentioned organisations but then I am sorry to tell you that your in for a tough time finding artists in the future. Of course I mean professional artists that know their rights  And believe me those of the today's rising artists that will make it in the scene also become professional one day and will also realise that they need to protect themselves and get their rightful money from all the radio stations that benefit from their music.
I am sure you still want to release stuff with them in the future?
And professional labels (no offense) have no problem with it. They see it as a legit partner.
It's the only way we artists can protect ourselves (except from very expensive lawyers). |

Insomniac yes i am the bad label owner that rips off his artists and you are right about ACUM they pay all the time to all their registered artists all the money they must receive....Its better man not to speak and critise when you dont know whats going on in the psychedelic trance market and especially when you dont know a person in personal like me.This is psy trance we talking about you know,not Pop Music.
Kristian last year i went to two clubs that played your 'Wolf' track that was released some years ago (big clubs not local or small ones),also a radio station (official radio station approved and recognised by the government) played twice the same track last year in Greece.
My question to you is the following.Did you receive even one dollar for these 4 public broadcastings?And just to let you know the radio station i am talking about 100% pays money to some companies for the music it plays on air,i am saying this cause i know that you will ask me so i am saving you from this question.
If the answer is yes then i promise not to tell again even one bad word about ACUM never and ever again.
P.S Prosect mate if you register to ACUM labels will have to pay for a new and unknown artist almost 500 euros in total for a track.If you find a label that will offer you this money then you are the luckiest guy in the world.

It is not my choice that i dont want to work with artists registered to companies like ACUM.I just cant afford it.We both know that sales in psy trance are AWFUL!
I simply cannot afford to pay 7500 euros for a ten tracks tracklist that now costs me just 5000 euros because none of the artists is registered to ACUM.
I mean in order just to balance with my expenses i will have to sale more than 2000 cds.If someone can find me a distributor that can guarantee me sales of more than 2000-2500 cds then i am willing to release absolutely everything!
You are an artist mate and you know first hand what i mean.

That's quite easy to answer: YES
I each year get money from AEPI and many other organisations around the world (incl. ACUM) from a lot of my old music and actually Greece is one of the Countries that pay most in the southern hemisphere
I even get the track names specified and I know that my 2 most "Aired" tracks in Greece are the wolf track and Trance Africa Express. |

Fisrt of all Detox i never said you are a bad label owner that rips off the artists and i never said that Acum pays all time...
What i was trying to say, at least in my country is better for an artist to register everything because if in the future theres any copyright problem. |

looks like ACUM not gonna get me at near future... hmmm.......... too complicated this stuff, i still don't get where and how taxes that paid to artist go to, sounds illegal

Prosect if you want my final suggestion mate then wait till you make a name for yourself and then see if you need to register with ACUM and stuff
Till then protect yourself by sending your music to labels in low quality or with 'scratches' in them.If they are interested ask all money advance and when they send you money along with contract then send the contract back signed along with the tune ready for mastering
