No debate about the truly .. The clean ,
The deep emotional feeling ... The erode
The quiet inaccessible land of dream .....
The passion and our desire of being there

When was your first exposure to this tune
of the Ambiant style .. When y first time
start walking in this gardens of eden ...
And who is your favorite artist in this
lovely & marvelous paradise .. ?

Asura...
The first track:
Asura - Requiem From Nowhere

The track which always will drive me there is:
Asura - Requiem From Nowhere

The best ambient track ever:
Asura - Requiem From Nowhere

This track make me feel like i'm god... or something close to that.
So deep, so easy, so powerful, so emotional, so perfect...

hmmh,

i'm not sure if it was the first one but it sure is one of the most profound experiences i've had with chill (or music in general as a matter of fact):

future sound of london: papua new guinea

still gives me goose bumps when i even think of the track

another one would be:

banco de gaia: kincajou (duck! asteroid )

roughly 36 minutes of fading in and out the same theme. but what a theme!

Interesting topic...very heartfelt and to the core of what makes this such an important genre to me personally.

I guess the point of no return for me was Pete Namlooks "Air 1+2" release on instinct in '94. I immediately begin snatching up everything fax I could get my hands on. (Not because I thought they'd be worth a bazillion dollars though... quirky and cool that they were though)

Luckily, I found an obscure local back-catalogue goldmine for old fax cds in So. Cal. (blowing dust off these in the store) and also a new release source in a record store owner that was into the experimental and imported goodies. I hooked him up with C.U.E who was supplying us for a while. Those were sweet times...being a fax junkie with an unlimited music budget.

Fast forward 10 years and these days, I'd have to say solar fields and matt hillier are really transcending my boundaries.

i actaully remember it very clearly - "Sargasso Sea" by Salt Tank (1994) i bought a compilation called ibiza vibes a sountrack for life (or something like that..). that track just made me shiver from the first listen until now.
after that it was Union Jack -Water Drum that got me totaly hooked to the genre.

i'd have to say vangelis. his music made me realize how "little" you need to hear to experience a whole lot.

pink floyd, definitely floyd.

I used to smoke loads and listen to floyd... at the time there was nothing more beutiful than those guitar solos. the music took me to different levels of imagination on a lot of ocasions. the lyrics left me speechless, so psychedelic yet so relative to our lives...
that was my first sign of awareness, the music left me with an almost depressive feeling that there is something more to life than what I already had. something beyond us, beyond what we see or feel...
on tracks like high hopes, echoes, sorrow.. my mind could picturise the most beutiful open green fields and me in the centre of it... since then when ever I see beutiful landscapes or open green fields, I say "its like a pink floyd vedeo..."

Nothing is said that has not been said before.
