Depends on the party. If its some people i havent heard before then i get excited. Dont know what to expect. but if its a group that i have heard of i dont get excited.
What used to get me the most excited was the sound of the bass(kicK) that you could hear from outside the club. that got me going. like im about to go into a diffrent world.

Actually, I was the most excited about seeing Hallucinogen live at the Octopus. I knew that the party was going to have club oriented sound (turbosound in the end :)), that there would be loads of clubbers and less trance people (well, basically right, but still a load of trancers), and that it probably WOULDN'T live up to my expectations, since Simon Posford is who I consider the "father" of trance sound, the master at sonic manipulations, and by god, the greatest genius ever to touch a synthesizer.

Luckily, that live act DID live up to my (insanely high) expectations, defining for me how a live act should be, since I've never reached such a spiritual high at a trance party ever before (and ever after), and that's only due to the music (I've been to many parties that had everything better than that act OTHER than the music, and it just never got me that far).

Looking forward to Koxbox, Doof or Eat Static to compete with that :)

Anyways, what I'm saying, is that excitement before a party can get your expectations way up, but when it happens for a reason, and you reach your expectations (or surpass them), there's nothing better in the world, so why not?
