Alot of Complaining Lately About Trance Music.

I see that most people like music with voices. I think the human voice "could" be the most interesting instrument.
How come that we don't accept it in trance, but do like it in all other styles?

listening to psy-trance 24/7 will put u in the mental hospital ehehe... try something different be more open minded explore other styles of electronica such as electro, techno, downtempo, break beat etc.. if u get tired of electronica listen to dance, 80's, hip hop etc, variety and good music in general is the key! |

Werry well spoken Anders,,
I do kind a the same, i listen to other stuff like
Trip hop, Sid, jazzmetax,, stuff like this,
but not so much because i think its healthy, i produce my self, so i think that listening to other music beside trance provides me with alot of inspiration, and offcourse i do like this music also,, just as i like trance..

Here's my small list:
Classical:
Bach - Well Tempered Piano. an amazing collection of preludes and fugue, very good but gets pretty boring after a few hours .
Philip Glass - Music in 12 parts. Extreme modern minimalism. About 3 hours of nearly the same thing, but not exactly.
Prog Rock:
Camel - The Snow Goose. They should have renamed it "Beginners Guide to Prog Rock".
King Crimson - Red. Solid, hard music. King Crimson at their best.
Pink Floyd - Meedle. My favorite Floyds album. Pink Floyd at their best, before they went totally commercial.
Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells - A milestone in the history of prog rock. The guy used over 30 instruments, overdubing himself each time.
Magma - Mekanik Destruktiw Kommandoh - Yet another milestone. A combination of choral voices, classical jazz and hard rhythms.
Metal:
Agalloch - The Mantle. One of the most complete CDs I've ever heard. Progressive metal for progressive headz.
Stormlord - In the Gates of Utopia. Melodic black metal with a very strong, grim atmosphere and original lyrics.
Others:
Gotan Project - La Revancha Del Tango. Modern Tango.
Weird Al - Check out this guy, he ownz.
Squarepusher - Do You Know Squarepusher. The best IDM I heard so far. |
