I'm getting too excited! Stories through Trance, waves resonating across the dance floor!!! Is Goa Gil's music that powerful?! It is what I keep hearing, I better brace myself!...and yes, trance like this is ideal for outdoors but we don't have that option right now, do we? I'm sure it won't stop us from having a great experience.

^^^^^^^

Me too! Got the tickets squared away (with S&H ), and it's going down for sure! Indoors can be pretty badass too, the energy level tends to get higher because it's so compressed.

Speaking of which, I know it came up before, but maybe someone associated with the party could give some more detail about the venue? What kind of capacity are we talking about, what kind of sound system, etc? Can't wait to groove on the fury, this is gonna be sick (fingers crossed).

The venue is same venue that A.P. used for the Halloween party. It a pretty good size and plenty of places to dance that aren't the dance floor. I am concerned that the place will fill up fast with Gil playing and it might get a little tight. Hopefully the security has had adjustment.

I figured Gil's current track selection might turn some people off...I don't think it'll be as big as some other NY parties. Of course, it is Gil on New Years Eve so I could be very very wrong.

Pshaw. What do people who aren't up for 12 hours of terror bass and swooshy noise know about having a good time anyway?

Hi Guys ,

1.The capacity of the venue is btw 600 to 800 ppl.

2.Sound description:
The sound system that will be used for GOA GIL on New Year’s Eve consists of JBL Concert Series loudspeakers customized by Alan Thompson, with Crown amplification with UREI and dbx processing. It is configured as stereo active three way, plus subwoofers, and it is an all analog design. There is no digital loudspeaker management system, as is common today, and the resulting sound is much warmer, smoother, wider and more natural than what is often heard through modern systems. This system is optimized for dance music, especially trance, because its neutrality allows the recordings to shine through with less truncation and distortion. This causes the necessary midbass of Trance to "breathe naturally" in conjunction with a tight low end, as opposed to the exaggerated bass and oppressive subsonic boominess that pervades so many poorly tuned House Music clubs. And at these venues, the lack of accurate midrange coupled with harsh, strident high frequencies adds insult to injury. In comparison, the sweetness of the JBL Neodymium 2" driver powered by Crown amplification, plus biradial tweeters above 7000 Hertz, cannot be described with words.
