advice on converting people

IMO it depends of what kind of rock these friends usually listen to. If they already familiar with melodic/progressive metal than the psytrance guitars may sound a little boring.
If they like standard Heavy metal try:
Skazi - GTR, And Than, Elements, XTC, Pissed Off
Talamasca - Aries, A french guy in Tokio
Sun Project - Dance of the Witches (gms rmx), 380 Volt, Out of my Brain
Infected Mushroom - Blue Muppet, None of this is Real
1200 Mics - Mescaline
Electric Universe - Meteor
The Delta - As A Child I Could Walk On The Ceiling
Psycraft - Partial Recall
Metallica - Seek & Destroy (Paranormal Attack rmx 1 & 2)
Neuromotor - After Effect
Tarsis - Brighter than the Sun
And many Dark Soho songs...
In case they like black metal or speed metal try:
Xenomorph - Killer State
In case they don't like these guitars, try some melodic stuff, like Astrix, Melicia, Dynamic, Sesto Sento, etc... and never forget SPACE TRIBE!

I am so far quite a failure with converting friends to Psytrance.
I guess that some ppl can't open their ears without opening their heads before (you know what i mean)
Yea, they all love Shpongle and the downbeat Infected tunes, but anything noisier and faster just wouldn't work.
That's a real bitch, if you ask me.

Musically, I suggest you start from the real downbeat candies such as Shpongle and OTT and move to trance classic such as early Israeli melodic stuff (Astral Projection - Trust in Trance 3),the Twisted album and Spiritual Healing (the album).
That should get them interested.
Chemically, give them some E, take them to a party and they will be "fixed" for the rest of their lives.

if they are rockers put some trance that include guitars
that will break the ice
and i dont believe ppl cant change their taste in music
but on the other hand i will never try to force ppl to listen to trance if they dont like it.

convert has the wrong connotations, they ask me what the deal is with all my strange music and ask why i travel far just for my "parties" and theyre curious. I dont seek to be any kind of missionary but they ask for a sample. . .
I have successfully "converted" about 5 ppl with a combination of infected, shpongle, dark soho, and GMS. . . .
