It's not about being politicly correct or not, it's just about respect to others thoughts.

For example: imagine that you are at a party and you state to a guy: hey that is pure shit (as you think it is). Maybe the guy you are talking to is a good-old friend of the dj and he likes what is being played. So I don't think it's the way to act.

I'm not saying that for me there is no shit music out there, I'm just saying that what for ones is shit, for others maybe no. Just that.

So basically you're suggesting you can never say some track is shit because someone else (or maybe even the artist) might be offended? Well, I'll be damned if I'm going to shut up about something I hate. I listen music for my entertainment. When I find that something does just the opposite of that I'll say it out how and whenever I please. Fuck other people's thoughts about it. They aren't me right? And besides, I've had to deal with so many people already that say the music I listen to (psytrance mostly) is shit that I don't really care about other people's feelings towards music anymore.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. I continue in disagree with you acidhive.

So you simple fuck other people's thoughts without no respect.

Now imagine another example: you have a girlfriend and her parents invite you to have dinner with them.
You taste the food and you think (arg, I don't like it, for me it's pure shit). But ei, as you say, what the fuck I don't mind if they like it or not, as I don't like it, I don't give a fuck, so I express it fully, without any respect, because I don't give a fuck...

The family maybe is trying to please you with all their love, but you don't give a fuck.

It's the same, but instead of your girlfriend and her family, you talk to someone that deserves respect as well (probably the dj is trying to do his/her best). I think you don't give a fuck about others thoughts only if it will not affect you, but in the girlfriends situation you will shut up or at least don't say "it's shit". I think you express your thoughts under a convenient point or view.

And again I remember: For me there are ALSO thougths that for ME are shit as well, I'm only saying that there are different and more respectful ways to express them.

this is an insteresting thread

imo there is good and bad music on partys!!!

for me the quality of the music is determining wheter its good or bad.
the quality of a track consists of the
theme and the production.
for the dj is important: does he play quality tracks. does the tracks he plays fit to the current situation. how is his mixing skill. is he keeping a level or he is just playing one "killlargh" track after another...

when im organizing a party or play there as a dj
"quality" is essential! i think only with quality u can bring the scene forward

Well, in my eyes the only objective factor about "good quality" is what the artist tries to obtain through soundquality, because that is the only thing that we all can share in means of a "scientific" view. All else is a question about personal taste (well ofcourse soundquality can be subjective too, but in a much lesser degree than type/style of music...

Dude, if I don't like food I don't eat it. So it'll be obvious to them anyway that I hate the food right? Anyway, the point here is that you are NOT me. I've had countless people tell me right to my face the music I listen to is shit, it sucks etc. How do you think that makes you feel? I don't care about other people's feelings towards music anymore. It's simple. They don't care about my feelings, so why should I care about theirs? I say it like I mean it. I've had the same people who said the music I listendto was shit looking at me funny when they asked me: what do you think about this? And I just said: it sucks. When they thought I was joking I said it again. When they got pissed I said: you once said the music I listened to was shit too, straight to the face. Makes you feel bad doesn't it? Asshole. It's nice to see then that is has the same impact on them as it does to me. Eat that fucker. Anyway, that's why I don't care about other people's opinions. You are you and you alone can decide which music you find good or not. Ofcourse there is room to spare people's feelings, but... only when they deserve it. And frankly, most people don't.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

Well done finally it's time to say that we do not like it if it's true! I agree 100% there is nothing wrong with voicing an opinion!

It's very simple, instead of saying that music is good or bad, which is always false since music in itself doesn't have any worth without a listener's subjective appreciation of it, say that you like it or dislike it. A song that you think is worthless, and that you think everyone will agree with you that it's inherently awfull, can be gold to another's eyes (this happens so often).           Row row row your boats gently down the stream; merrily merrily merrily merrily life is but a dream.

All i can say is there's a way to put one's opinion & the correct way is to put your opinion (whether good or bad) in such a way that it sounds like an opinion & not like a fact or a judgement.

And yea full respect is due to the effort being evaluated (in question) & all the opinions surrounding th effort.

That makes everyone happy....

it just so sucks

when a person dancing next to u comes close and says "he's (dj) fucking it up"

i'll take it once, twice but the third time am gonna ask the person to keep her opinion to herself.

it is correct that if u like the music nothing should u, but here we talking about an instance when some one actually is.
