well Detox you say:
Vinyls: If you release music on vinyl then why not release it on CD.
DATS and cassetes: For these you still need to be recording from somewhere. Who was making this music and how?
          Both teams played hard

before '93 there was trance but maybe not what became the psy sound, stuff like Resistance D, Cosmic Baby, Sven Vath etc lots of german melodic trance from 91/92 before that there was techno/acid stuff that was bordering on the trip trance feel aswell as ebm/industrial sounds that were played at early trance dance goa parties...all a big melting pot:)

Apocalypse my friend back then trance was much more underground than it is now and people considered trance even groups like Jam and Spoon and 2Unlimited
Vinyls were the thing that dj's mostly used and as i said before they listened to mostly acid house, house, breakbeat, jungle and even happy hardcore music.
Psy trance evolved later           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

before we had trance supermarkets (god bless them!) the music at outdoor parties (the ones i was involved with) was made up of weird techno mostly ,from all around the globe, just like today really, except now thanks to the www we're all aware of each other a lot more.
while we're talking about old cds i think
'Blissed - Rite of Passage' pod/spv 1993
is worthy of a mention.(blissed was Tyoshi, nik taylor &takehiro tukuda) this cd can still do my head in and was a real evolution in the music imo

Etnica - Pacific Love ('92 DAT) - acidic
, in-your-face synth lines, tripped out chords - the intention was very clear already then
