You hit the nail right on the head there. I find ONE decent track pr standard psytrance CD release these days. If its a really good release, I might find more - and in shitty releases I find none.

So, you have to look and look - and also, as a DJ you will have to buy stuff where you dont like 90% of the music.

In chillout, I find 90% good music instead.

Now go on and when you all start to REALLY enjoy and buy chill, that will change as well. Compilations and cd's will be flying all over the place and pretty soon it's the same scene as psytrance is now. That's how undergrounds die.

Yes I agree - In theory I have always thought that the reason I am so particular about what trance I enjoy is that I have spend a shitload of time sifting thru trance releases during these last 10 years.

So, therefore I am very demanding.

However, it must be said that I have been into chillout for almost as long - Even though my main focus has been, and will be trance.

So, it is also a matter of personal taste - Im not stating as a fact that chillout is better for everybody, Im just stating that it is of superior quality for me.

I dont understand how you connect it to the underground dying though ? Please explain that.

Best Wishes

When you are interested in music, it is only natural to explore more and more types of music over time. If you want to call it "evolution" thats your choice However, I think it sounds a bit pretentious... Saying that you have a more evolved musical sense is elitist.. as in "better than others".
I call it, broader & more diverse taste

Dont get me wrong, i dont think my tastes in music is better than others. Ok, who am i kiddin, sumtimes i do turn my nose up at an oakenfold cd.
But anyways, i listen toa wide variety of music anyhow. From bob marley to thievery Corp, Mobb Deep, Mos Def and also Jamiroquai

BUT.. i find it interestin that i feel more 'comfortabel' with the chilled scene. is it coz i havent been thoroughly dissapointed so far with teh releases i have. For instance, The track on the new DMT album called 'hikari land'. Its my track of the day.. i listen to it all the time.           ~*** You can tell By the way i use my walk, Im a woman's man, No time to Talk***~

I think that change happens because we have explored and listened psy trance for much years and chill out music is little more unexplored and more new in our ears, it is natural as Krell wrote to happen after much years of listening trance,it is not good to stuck in one only music style, opening our minds and expand through other sound directions is always needed.
