some weeks ago i read in the newspaper that ACUM sued a woman who played coprighted music in her hair dresser shop, which mean - public performance.

they also started to take money ("tamlugim") from halls who make bar mitzva, weddings, etc...

it seems so ridiciouls........ they are worst than the RIAA.. soon they gonna start taking money from DJ's who play music, and i have a lot of cd's by HOMmega and all have the shitty "ACUM" sign, so wtf is this i bought a cd and i can't play it in public?           u can find "Anything U Want" using the search...

mm so let's say you play it loud in your car with open windows and car is in a huge traffic bottleneck , so...also public performance?:)

i don't beleive this will spread too much and single examples always exist everywhere
it still ain't epidemy, so no need to panic

I think this is a simple trick for attracting media attention towards copyrights and ACUM.

The one responsible paying for performance rights (which is a payment that needs to be made if the music played at a place enhances the income of the place, or is a major part of the place) is up to the owner-organiser.

And yes all the big clubs (and cafes) pay performance rights to ACUM.           Kinetic Honda GmbH, Worldwide Supliers of Quality noise.

exaclty. every dance club or other place that music is a major thing have to pay to acum. its not something new. in the case with hairdress salon its mean they said that she atracted ppl to come there by music perfomance, so its became the major thing, so she must pay.

to add to what zombi said, technically its not diffrent then playing a dvd or videotape to a large audience and charging them money for it... you know that warning they give in the start.. thats it.           "On the other hand, you have different fingers."

dear shanti... its nice and good that its writen on the cd/cover...

but the music is copy righted... not the plastic itself.

in your theory, all radio stations can play burned cd`s and pay nothing to ACUM.
not realy logical i might say...          if you want to be rich, u`ve got to be a bitch!
