ok 760 mph that means that it is you are traveling 12.6666666666667 miles per minute. therefore to break the sound barrier all you have to do is make a track that is 12.66666666666666 bpm then moves too 12.6666666666668 bpm and you will really blow some minds by breaking the sound barrier these people making fast music had it all wrong its just no one thought to make a track at that specific speed

Is it even possible to make a sound that will break it's own barrier? I think it would be friggin awesome if there was a way to create a sonic boom on the dancefloor... Just once, I'd like to get knocked over by sound... I miss drum & bass...           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

The only sad part about high tempo music is that it requires some sort of special skill to produce & execute in a classy, intelligent way. I have heard numerous nightpsy producers - mainly the newbie releases producing 160 + & making an utter mess of it. In fact even some of the veterans can't pull it off properly IMO - those who heard the 170 BPM track on CPC's album may get a hang of what im saying.

Furious, Sonik Scizzor, Cosmo, Osom & Kulu are probably the only ones ive seen that have pulled off a 160 + track in a way that made me go The rest sadly just seemed to be a mess.

@Mubali...looking forward to hearing your 160 collabs release soon mate

yeah, speaking of sonic density...

I heard average RootMeanSquare level across the CPC and friends album was -4 dBfs .... !!! ???

talk about smushed ;-) i've not heard the album though. could have been a mastering mishap -- or just a conceptual choice! ...?

Yes bad final mix & horrid mastering imo - way way too compressed... sad thing was the cpc & friends album had some superb musical ideas... 3-4 tracks were the bomb the 170 BPM wasn't one of them though

the easiest way to break the sound velocity barrier would be to have a trance party underwater, where the wave propagation could exceed 1500 meters per second (versus 760mph = 334 meters per second)... ! unfortunately, you'd lose everything above the sub bass...

regards playback systems capable of generating sonic booms, probably unlikely -- although it would be nice if transient response in current loudspeaker systems would react that fast. extended supersonic harmonics for your square waves, anyone? talk about punchy kickdrums...

easiest way would probably be to fire a sniper rifle into the air when the beat comes back... (skazi?) just be careful not to hit the helicopter!

It's not true that the fast stuff is only a certain sound..I like it at all rpms as long as it can move me.I have found myself dancing the fastest when dancing to chill and ambient.
I focus more on the pulse speed which makes the BPM's pointless to me......
133BPM by systems standard's 10 years ago was the perfect speed.
If 1000BPM become ambient then why can't.....................?

I'm going to have to agree that some of the more intense psychedelic stuff is on the slower side (145-149) like Over Game etc.. but I do really really really enjoy some of the faster stuff.

Some of the producers coming out now have been exploiting it, but there's some good faster stuff coming from Mexico and Portugul, aka Rawar, Xikwri Neyrra, and Master Pain..

Cosmo is probably my favorite artist with most of the tracks on Akustical Pollution 150+ some of his best songs IMO ring in at 170.
To answer the question, I enjoy all tempos, but really enjoy 148-190(+, maybe if the track is really really good), but prefer 153+

I think the better times for the the 160 area are from 3-5, and after 11 in the afternoon (just to perk people back up hehe )

though it is based on a subjective response, it is mostly a conversation about a factual/objective value and overall i would say you behaved yourselves while i was away.

That's it! We need to make a DROWNING Man Party in some warm tropical waters somewhere!

I've been saying this for a couple years already and Bastard's comment only reaffirms my idea!

Lets do it!

Current live set ranges from 136bpm to 160bpm with a gravitational polar axis at 148bpm.
