What's wrong with you people? If you go to parties for some time, you gotta know what is dark psy, what is full-on, what is progressive psy-trance, and what is classic goa style.
Not to overload this topic with the explanations, but here's a good set of articles at Wikipedia you can read:

i dont see whats wrong with the question. It's a simple one. People are so ready to look to criticise people's posts. This discussion has been going on for years now, regarding the misgeneralizations and classifications of what sort of psy is called what, specifically darkpsy. Since it is all subjective, there will be no correct absolute answers, so the best we can try to describe different sort of psy tracks is giving it a particular name. It's some what ludicrous just to say "lets just call it psychedelic trance" . You gotta be kidding me, if i hear a D-Nox track and i hear a horrorplace track, even though they both fall under "psychedelic" music and are available lets say at Psyshop, doesnt mean these tracks are similar. I would'nt categorize DNox and Horrorplace as the same type of music. So subgenre's imo are helpful in trying to describe different sorts of psy tracks.
And if you read it this post correctly, he/she does not say that southafrican trance = darkpsy...
back to topic,
i like it very much in a party setting, usually not too much for home, i like listening to some chunky proggy tunes when i'm chillin, unless i'm working out or wanting to feel pumped up, then i'll pop in some faster shid.

There's some dark stuff that's pretty good, everyone has their kali-side, the destructive side, which is natural and necesary I think. Without destruction you cannot create.
Anger and agression are the emotions that make us rebel and demand change, and if an artist can create a musical composition that plays with these elements, that's a great achievement.
Others just throw in a bunch of horror movie clips; chainsaws used on people screaming, rape murder and pain.
They throw in some unmelodic sounds at 16th notes, and call it dark/noise psy.
I call it rubbish.
But everyone has their own taste
