granted.. that is similar to the beginning of "around the world in tea daze"? but.. it's not like they sampled the entire melody is't? that is what you said before. "samples the whole song like shpongle does with thier melodies" it's a different thing if you take an audio clip and make it a intro or something or sample entire track and rename it is it?

First off, it's not similar to Around The world intro - it IS the around the world intro - i have the quality mp3 of that guitar song at home.

I never said that so i dont know where your getting that - your starting to put spin on this becasue I am proving my point and you don't like it.
but they do sample melodies like I said before. vocal, guitar, horns, percussion, whatever - thats how shpongle is made, with lots of samples; both clips and melodies.

Maybe some artists are like me when i was in 10th grade and i used to steal other people's work in my schoolwork from far away sources and thought noone knew ever or will be able to make the link... maybe i've looked retarded then as they do now.... i still love shpongle.

it shouldnt be too hard to ditsinguish whats sampled and whats not on sphongle. Anything that sounds tribal or ethnic is probably sampled, antything that sounds like a synth is not. Some of the melodys they write with their synths are still incredible so who cares... |

mate just a small correction
first: the 'sample' you talk about appeared in my "elements" track and not in "take a walk outside".
second: its not a sample. i actually sat and programmed the drums myself, although im a lazy bastard 
i think (although im not sure) that logic bomb sampled it from my cd which is pefectly cool if you ask me because they created something new with it
about sub6 i dont know because i didnt hear the mentioned track....
but generaly it is true that a lot of people use sample cds. they are inspiring and fun to work with and as long as the outcome is fresh and gives the samples a new meaning and/or context i welcome it.
in general i dont really care where it came from or what the people used i just enjoy zee music |

Whats the old saying about "genius steals"?
The whole of history of music, especially popular music has been about stealing and recycling. Dance music is particularly prone to it - and although its very generic - its so fast moving that different permutations spring up all the time and the music moves on.
So a few producers stole some samples or even tunes... not exactly earth shattering news... let the producer who's never "borrowed" a sample cast the first stone!! |
