I know what your saying Berserx, and thats what I was refering to when I made my post about Shpongle - samlpes are great to use - I just don't like when entire songs or long melodies are sampled - with few exceptions.

Well what about GMS's 'Juice by GMS'?
Its a total ripoff of someone elses melody, which by the way the entire track is based around and they dont even give the original composer credit!!
Its disgusting and not very professional           ¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø, Gi'iwa//MuddyPigsº¤ø,¸¸,ø¤ºº

The Juice track I see as more of a Remix of the original song thant a ripoff - that did not hide the fact that they got it from Requiem and I Dont take it too serious. That song sucks tho, but everyone knows where it came from - and they didnt just samples the whole song like shpongle does with thier melodies. That actually used synths with the same notes.           no sig

i don't consider there's anything wrong with taking pieces from different songs, or making remixes alike Juice, as long as the appropriate artists get credits for their contribution, if that isn't happening... shame on the artist that releases the track (lotsa bad karma and such)

isn't this the same with the power of celtic series?           www.psytracks.com :: Brand new website for sharing your psytracks with the world. Get a free 250Mb Artist profile, Blog and events calender!

care to englighten me? you've heard one shpongle track that has similar horns than some ancient brazilian tune? horn part = melody? melody = melodies? check your dictionary DOOD!           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

You are kidding me arent you??
Even in an assignment for school you have to have a bibliography stating where you got your information and give credit for it.
GMS ripped off more than just a few notes
They rmx a track that wasnt theirs and NEVER gave credit for it-
I am not saying Shpongle is any better but maybe the sample they used was released for that use.....as a sample cd
Listen to the Entheogenic and Shpongle 1
they both use the same samples!!
So did Entheogenic rip Shpongle samples or did they just have the same sample cd??
GMS are pirates when it comes to "JUICE'
and I would have no problem with it if they just gave the original composer credit
and dont get me started with the womans vocals in "Gladiator"           ¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø, Gi'iwa//MuddyPigsº¤ø,¸¸,ø¤ºº

Yeah I care to enlighten you DOOD, even tho all you have to do is read my shpongle post link on the first post here , but i can write it AGAIN for YOU.
First of all , it's not just one shpongle track where Ive heard the exact melodies from other places.
And the one you say has SIMILAR horns (My head feels like a frisbee) you are wrong - i watch the whole season of survivor and heard the EXACT horn section many many times that was in that song - they SAMPLED it, and after talking to people I found out it is a popular song somewhere in the world that they sampled. Shpongle are sample masters, they use tons of samples, and yes they sample entire melodies, Im sorry if that makes you upset or you can't face that fact.
Yeah there one of my favorites, but I thought they wrote all thier meledoies, they don't. A lot are direct samples - and already in many other songs from all over the world.
The topic of this thread is, "a bit let down", and that made me a bit let down to find that out about shpongle.
Tho I still think there one of the best , i just know they make there music a different way than I previously thought, more sample based.

It would be good if it only stayed with samples...I know a few examples of tracks which stole more than just a sample...check the hujaboy - save ass track...on 3:40 till the end there is almost the entire track devilfish - man alive...he just put some effects and stuff over it....also the track Tortured Brain Vs. Sterilizer - Totally Fucked on Amazon compilation has one popular techno track in the background...and I mean an entire track...they just put some stuff over it....now that's unprofessional           DJ Dovla | Interchill Records, Flow Records

Yeah Traveller, i dont have the cd with me, Im at work, but off the top of my head most of the ethnic vocal melodies on tales are from sample cd's - some other insturments are samled like the one below, which Im not sure if they credited the composer for, i dont have the sleeve with me. someone can check if they want.

the greater thing about shpongle is the way it is arranged and what they do with samples and how they add to them.          no sig
