Hi guys, I have a friend who is organizing a 2 days open-air festival, but differently from what we are used to see, he is planning to make breaks during the night, and allow people to have some sleep and make the party rock during day-time. What do you think of it? I have been to some day-time parties and the energy is different from night parties. It sounds somehow more positive, energetic, healthier because your body does not get tired. Share your oppinios with us.

i din't understand quite well... that brake you're talkin is what? the music stops when the sun is rising? and then few hours later starts again? humm... if so, i think it would be better to do a "Day-Time Party" only, it makes more sence to me!!

i think its a great idea !!!

tho there is the idea that one MUST go thru the darkness to get to the light.....
with some of the 'dark' music coming out these days, i think i'd rather spend my night in bed than on the dancefloor.

How about playing psychedelic chillout during the night???? to really piss off the darkness freaks....

and give the rest of the campers nice nice dreams

boomboom & *good vibes*

i think he means we party from sunrise till sunset (daylight hours)
Sounds fantastic
might be an idea to incorporate some traditional music during the night - fairly low key like drumming / didgeridoo workshops?
all the best with this plan!

It is by the juice of Sapho that thoughts

The lips acquire stains -
The stains become a warning - blah, blah , blah!

I wouldn't want to miss out on the magic of the night, it's definetly an essential part of the psychedelic trance experience for me.

Shamanic sessions, where people go on a psychedelic journey, are held at night. Witches celebrating the powers of nature where dancing through the night.
Night has always been time of rituals.

It's about balance. There is no light without darkness.

Yes, you can have lot's of fun and happy energy during day parties, but imo you will never experience the same katharsis (~purification), as you do when you dance through the night into the light.

This is true.

what are ur thoughts on dancing through the light into the night?
Is there any significance (in terms of energy, spirituality, etc) in that?

It's like being reborn on a good party, going thru the night into the sunrise.
I guess to go from day to night instead would be like...dying more.

it a good idea in terms of restoring your energy, and chilling out and easing your muscles a bit in the night(especially if you are not looking for all the shamanic stuff and the withchcraft dancing thru the nite, rite pointy)and just before the sun is ready to shine you are back into the power of trance-dance action.
definately, the experimental idea of a 2 day festival all thru the day surely seems more revitalising n soothing for the body n mind as it gives time in between to get into some kinda ease.
love always
BTW- *there is no light without darkness*

I don't want to tell anybody not to do day parties. It's fine with me. Everybody his/her own way, as long as they are not harming another.

I was just explaining why they are not very attractive to me, myself.

When you think a day-time festival is "more revitalising n soothing for the body n mind", than dancing from dark into light, than you have obviously not experienced what I am talking about.

Spindrift put's it very well:

trance side of the moon....
the evil factor.......
mystry of the elements which grow stonger n wicked with darkness....
^and the day turns into night^
the two sides of a coin, toss it up,and enjoy the elements of both sides as both has its own beauties n evilness to offer.

Ok, I pick up on the "katharsis" word, wich basically means purification and relieving of emotions, especially pity and fear, by bringing repressed feelings to consciousness. This experience restores and refreshes the spirit.

Since a lot of our fears have to do with darkness and you could describe repressed feelings as 'being in the dark', it just seems to make more sense to me to go from night to day.
Also when you think of the experience to be "reborn", and that you are coming out of the womb (darkness) into this world, makes it seem sensible to have it in the dark to light order.

Of course, you can experience dark energy in the day as well, but I really do believe that 'dark sounds' and the absence of light will make the experience much more profound.

peace&enjoy

Well my friends, I was explaining your points of view to my friend (who can't speak English) and his idea is a sunrise to sunset festival, and the break I mentioned is for equip maintenance and give the crowd a rest. I may tell you that here in Japan, there's more and more day-time parties and in some of them more crowded than night parties. As for energy, I am one who sees trance as a form of it. And I may tell you that the energy, and spirituality is somehow better during daylight. Another point I was talking to my friend is about what sort of trance would sound better during day-time. Well, full-on is out of question. He has already asked DJs involved in this party to avoid it, he wants strong trance - but not full-on. That's it.

Peace and Love.

I love the idea! Have a good night sleep and wake up for party as everyone else. Not have to go to sleep at night thinking you are losing the best moment. And Have a great breakfast 2 hours after dancing. Enjoy the best moment of the party energy on sunlight and have the night for others enterteining. I think apart from full moon nights. I would prefer to party only on they time
