i was 17, went out with some older ladies. I gave `em a smoke and they took me to a wild party in a forest, I dont remember alot but it was very cool to hear the music in the nature and when the sun came out it was amazing! I danced like crazy..

my first party was the voov in 2001...
it was amazing...started slowly with fireworks, ppl whistling, screaming...an undescribable athmossphere...i was so excited without knowing why...couldn't believe that it's real what was happening...what was goin on? when the music started, i began to move without having heard trance before, it went like this...the music floating my body.
voov is so big, it seemed to me so unreal how can this exist, how can they do this decoration, play this music...it was like another world to me...
really, i didn't take any drugs that weekend...!
meanwhile i prefere little events, but i'll never miss the voov, it's so great!

I first knowingly heard trance from the Distance 2 Goa II cd while it was played in an HMV music store in Brighton (england). I bought a copy and found myself at a Animadelia party at the Zap club a few weeks later (which is going back a bit!!) Fluffed around the dance floor looking at all these crazy people in a state of bliss for hours

Was fortunate enough to have a personal renaissance after leaving the scene for a few years then on impulse went to solipse in zambia by myself (was v bored working in an office)....it honestly changed my life and the friends i made there are amongst the best i have today.....biggup to FISH

Why like so much??? i guess if u love it...it can take u places, beautifull loverly places

the first time i went to a psy trance party i dont think i liked it too much, the party was AMAZING; 'mindscapes and friends' at the drome in london........ but i found the minimal stuff they played boring

so for the first year i went to psytrance parties for the people, the chillout and acid techno rooms.

then i went to the boom festival and the music there just blew my mind, it was so amzing under the moon with thousands of people going insane.

Hey all

It was 98, I had just finished school and wouldnīt start college till the second semester...

So I went backpacking throught Europe... I was in Amsterdam, in a very nice coffeeshop I just canīt remember the name, and then came this girl with two huge dogs (huskies) and we started chating...

At that time I didnīt know much of eletronic music and would say I didnīt like it (I even used to call everything tecno). She started explaining me goa and stuff and said she was going to this club she loved and invited me, so I went...

We arived at Trance Buddha, she payed my entrance and gave me some tolkens to get by... I found the music really strange but slowly got in to it...

I remember she was hving a blast, dancing a lot and very well... so I asked if she knew the songs and if she knew when those crazy noises would come by... She just smiled and said: "No, I donīt know sh:t, I feel itīs cominī"... WOW... a new world opened up through my soul...

Than I wanted to know everything, who was playing and stuff... I remember that the name of the artists really made me laugh... It was something like...

Growling Mad Scientists

Well, after that night I canīt denie Iīm freak anymore

all

PLUR

The girlīs name is Sofia, and she is from Austria but lived there... I completely lost touch with her... since this forum is so magical... who knows?

It was 1996 when I first heard Mr. Nivok (Nivoc of Nuclear Ramjet) play at a more 'mainstream' rave here in Toronto with jungle/house etc... had no idea what to make of any of it but the trance sounded cool... unfortunatly there is a break between the music and the events you go to - how do you first find the music in its raw form? For me it was the advent of a startling new technology which we are all familiar with - MP3s!!! There was a site up on the net at the time called 'The Temple' which featured rips from CD of various styles of electronic music... the way they did things was to encode at 128 a few tracks from a CD (not the whole thing) then provide a link to buy the source album if a listener liked it... through this site I discovered the fantastic music of MWNN, Hallucinogen, Deviant Electronics, Astral Projection, etc - and was forevermore in love with the Goa sound... so lets not bash MP3s too hard - they helped fanatics like me (in places far off) first learn of this sound end result: thousands spent on records and parties and all the rest!

For me it was in November 1995....

I was having my first "fungus session" with my sister and a couple friends in my apartment. Towards dawn one friend pulled out this tape that another guy had gotten on a trip to France called "Goa Trance". Within about 30 seconds, my head was in a completely different world...I still don't think it has fully come back.

I was still living in Texas at the time, so it took me several months and countless hours searching the internet to find any of the music (or realize there was a whole party scene surrounding it). With enough pestering, a local store would order CDs for me. My first CD was the Project II Trance CD (on Dragonfly). I listened to it every day for months, until I finally started getting more CDs.

But those first few tracks I heard from that tape are still special to me....
Total Eclipse - Waiting for a New Life
Prana - Scarab
Razor's Edge - Exquisite Sin

So primative yet so much feeling.           -----------------

i began with Astral Projection in the may of 1997 in goa.......no stopping after that. got into detroit techno for a bit and some hard house but returned back to trance in 1999 and now its only pure psychedelic trance......so thats the evolution of trance for me since 1997. i got to hear a DAT of Astral Projection in Goa for the first time paid a whooping Rs 400 for recorded tape of theirs heard it for 5 years and have still preserved the tape.......thanks AP           If you can read this you must be okay but if you read this again you are stonned silly

first time i stepped thruogh the doors of perception and entered the trance realm was when i first heard juno reactors - bible of dreams . and tsuyoshi`s black&white cd.
those 2 cd`s just changed everything for me.
i still think that 10 years from now and even 20 , juno`s bible of dreams will be rememberd and appriciated . definetly a classic !           if u dig deep enough u just might reach the sky...
