Not sure exactly if you'd call this ambient but listening to the album ‘The Noise Made by People’ by Broadcast.
Sounds a bit like Portishead with drifty female vocals and a strong 60's vibe. Very mellow and loungy, and has a strange haunting quality to it - especially on tracks like 'Look Outside' and 'City in Progress'.
Nice stuff!
