So what is your ultimate to artist album from this entire genre? Doesn't had to be from a period of time or anything but the one album that satisfies your listening needs no matter what?

For me this album grew over time but I absolutely love it in it's entirety. It's Total Eclipse - "Violent Relaxtion". It's has all the elements from hints of industrial, dark, light & chillout with the perfect amount of psychedelic sprinkled on top.           Cuntus Maximus.

Difficult to say but "Son Kite - Colours" is definitely one of them.

Nice choice: in a way though I associate somehow that album as the beginning of the end of psy prog. After that it seemed to go all electro then in to the now Neelix sound which you know J how I feel about Monsieur Neelix *vomit*           Cuntus Maximus.

as much as i'm an absolute goa fan and nothing hits me better than goa trance, for an artist album i'd have to pick cosma's non stop - this for me is a pure masterpiece a-z, draws an atmosphere and tells a story each and every track.

i'd have to mention the misted muppet's from the legend as well - beautiful concept album too

(i'll mention my usual goa suspects, the lone deranger and IFO cuz they deserve to )

to choose one is impossible because then you have to stick to single subgenre of the psy scene and then say you're a goa guy or proggy guy or forest guy or hardcore darkpsy guy... sorry, never ever been a fan of just one style...

so spreading it out...

Hallucinogen - Twisted
X-Dream - Radio

already mentioned by many... Cosma - Nonstop

Psykovsky - Debut
Gow + Metaloids - Tits on Fire

Jaia - Fiction

Alien mutation vs Indigo egg - Microcosm Macrocosm
Abakus - That Much Closer To The Sun &
Tripswitch - Circuit Breaker

off the top of my head, 5 more minutes and would've come up with 10 more to spam this thread.

This. Exactly my thoughts! There are sooo many different styles, artists and beautiful labels that represent particular segment in short psytrance/goatrance history.. It's so hard to re-raise just ONE album. Can't be done imho. There are many producers who wholeheartedly follow their own visions, convictions and own created trends..

Right now, I could think of:

Hallucinogen - The Lone Deranger
Cydonia - In fear of a red planet
Scatterbrain - Infernal Angel
Psyside - First Contact
Guinea Pigs - Not tested on animals
Psykovsky - Debut
Shpongle - Tales Of The Inexpressible
Furious - Uncanny Beats
Tryambaka - The Colour of Time
Cosmosis - Synergy
Derango - Tumult
Logic Bomb - Unlimited
Braincell - Transformation of reality
Pleadians - IFO
Xenomorph's - Cassandra's nightmare & Qlippoth
The Misted Muppet - From the Legend
Deja Vu Fabrique - Deja Vu Fabrique
Toi Doi - Technologic
Shakta's - Silicon trip & Enlighted Ape
Sandman - Psycho Toons
Kox Box's - The Great Unknown & Dragon tales
Osom - Peace for the wicked (officialy labeled as compilation, but it's actually Osom & friends.. this put new standards in cyberdelic world imho)

Don't piss on me for such a exhausting list. I’m one of those "long-list" guys )

The chill-out albums mentioned above here are all Top-Notch!! How about Mystery of the Yeti? Hallucinogen's track called "Herb Garden" was prolly the 1st ambient track i heard.Words cannot describe that feeling 10yrs ago,,,,,,,

Of course but I think Herb Garden was on Part 2. You have to listen to the first one if you missed it, proper journey music from start to finish, strong vibes of Hallucinogen chillout.

Are You Shpongled? .. I don't why I didn't mention this earlier... this is probably the most memorable album for me.

and 2 albums that were years, possibly decades ahead of their time...

Dub Trees - Nature Never Did Betray The Heart That Loved Her
+
Subsurfing - Frozen Ants

Once you go into chillout there are just too many... never mentioned Shulman, Ott, early Ultimae etc.
