They're still throwing parties under the Bridge??? I thought that was done with long ago. |

Yeah, you can throw parties under the bridge. That party was the first party there in years. You have to respect the park curfew. That means parties only during the day, you can't have a party at night for saftey reasons. |

correction, it is illegal to throw parties under the bridge, but they still happen from time to time, when the weather is right and lady luck is on your side... i personally would not risk something like that, but private organizers could ceitainly take that chance with lesser probability of "getting in trouble"

By far for me was the Gaian mind
Summer music festival last June.
That was a top notch production by
Allen and crew! I think that really set
the vibe right for the rest of this year.
Then the follow up of Mattaa Mandaraa III
was a perfect end to this summer. I cannot
wait for next June! I also have the
Omnidance festival in NY high on my list
for next summer. I missed in last year 
I was also pleasantly suprised by the
Tsunami Sun Project party at Arc/NYC
last month. Great production. First time
I got to hear Minds of Demented and Yoni
also.

The biggest difference between BM and a trance party is that at BM everyone participates. Not like 'one artist' and 'a thousand dancers' - more like 30,000 artists, and 30,000 dancers.
I wonder if there'll be much organized trance at BM this year, with the Boom festival happening in Portugal at the exact same time. What a pity, all the trancers will have to go dance at the disco chapel.  |

the second loft party in Brooklyn last saturday night.
music deco vibes --> 
peaceful people participating in pure trance dance. artists drawing in the chillout room, group meditations, great dj sets by all.
environment was nothing short of what we hope to get out of a proper trance party.

Well besides being biased towards the Gratitude Party this past summer...
I would have to say that Blue Room Americas release party back in '97 with X-Dream in San Francisco at Custer Stages. It was only a couple of months after Radio had been released and it was as good as it gets.

hmmm, since it's sort of an 'all time' best in the US... for me it's been:
1. Fusion Festival, Sierras California (i can't remember the year) with GMS and Synchro and many others (who i can't remember either-that kind of party:)
2. Fusion Festival (the next year): Penta in the dust, Anti, Dmitri, scads of others (see above)
3. Ubar Tmar (of Matsuri fame) renegade on a beach in a state park in Washington with 50 souls or so...lets see that was 2002.
Honorable mention:
Deedrah in Seattle 2003
Talamasca at As One in Oregon 2003
Goa Gil Oregon 2001 & 2003 (and i'm sure 2002 was great too, i just didnt make it...)
anyway, i enjoy seeing everybody's take on things.

sooooooo many to choose from. The Bay Area is a fantastic place to party. Great folks, great sound, great decorations...
Great vibes, all around.
For me, two stand out in recent memory:
1) Gratitude (September '03)
What can I say about this that hasn't
already been said?
2) Koinonea 2012 (December '03)
Originally I hadn't planned on going
to this one, as I had a gig already lined
up for that evening and was somewhat
interested in going to the THUMP party.
Boy am I glad I decided in the end to

For the music:
-One of the last Alphatrance parties, in a warehouse in New Jersey (not the old tobacco factory with all the artist studios, but the place deep inside another buidling, in a room with no windows). System was setup very nicely, and we got some deep dark minimal in the right setting!
-The time Omni Tribe hosted Son Kite @ a children's playhouse. Again, system was setup very nicely, I really felt Son Kite's music
-Another SS party w/ Paps&Yumade + art by Punkadelic. Punkadelic's art is fucking amazing!
For the fun:
-Many of the Synthetic Sadhus parties, in particular my first = oforia+laughing buddha @ marc ballroom
-Subtle Chaos party w/ Dj Micha from MDMA, and the bridge party that followed |
