I would like to mention one of the most absolute fantastic Tribal albums , not soft , not progressive but very psychedelic... Bible of Dreams - Juno Reactor!

To the point now , i used to dislike music when a dj played minimalistic soft tunes , sounded too boring for me.
But while searching for different music i discovered Haldolium , H2 and then it hit me straight away.
Then Ticon, Matenda, Reefer Decree,Sbk and even Allegria ! Prog and Minimal is best for me in After hour parties , nice to chill out and dance a bit , good for home listening , nice to space out ..

However the real deal is somewhere between A KICKING LOUD KICK A FAT BASS & Accompanied with some noisy rhythmistic percussions (+ pads and special fx included )

I am still hook with all my old time favorites , like X-Dream/Delta, Etnica , Spirallianz, Wizzy, Synchro and more. Good for me that this guys moved to a more techno-trance orientent structure

To end i still dont like shiva chandra and i dont know why.. it supposed to be the pionneer and the master but i guess not for me!

Aaaah, and i dont realy think that progressive will ever rule planet psychedelia because for this simple reason: Its not enough abstract , weird , crazy , absurd, strange, twisted in other words Psychedelic

hmm.. but you never know..

Shiva Chandra - Gecko, Necton - Children of the Noizy Village, Electric Universe - Unify and Charm - Pathfinder are the four albums that I believe have been the greatest progressive creations, since I believe that Psytrance should be PSYCHEDELIC. When people listen to Ticon at night, no wonder the peak of the parties is always in the morning when the full-on DJs really shine. Deep just isn't enough on it's own, for that I can always listen to some IDM and Detroit Techno (which measure up more than favourably to most trance acts on the depth factor). Psytrance does some special things that other genres just DON'T. People should focus on those, not on taking elements from house music.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

I tried liking it, I really tried.
I don't.
The sounds are becoming clubbier, which is totally against the whole idea of trance - wide, open, outdoor.
But let's not start the discussion again about if it's trance at all.

It's nice to chill at home maybe with this kind of progressive. I don't want to hear it in a party, and unfortunately I do, too often.

Kaz and Ravergirl,
I prefer trance over house by far, but the groove of Ticon or the fluffines of a band like flowjob, is very trancy and not in cheesy way. The Tribalnes of son kite is very outdor in my opinion. But i agree completly on the point of house taking over the trance scene (here in Denmark), is very annoying. But i believe that a comp. like FX from Iboga is very outdoor, it just depends on your rythem, when the swedish bongo madness hits you, then yull see people with drums, in the nature drumming like carzy everywere.           "Love is a way of life"

I have nothing against soft music. But with all due respect, the swedish progressive trends go farther away from the words psychedelia each time. It's not like I never loved the music, but a trend of making psytrance less psychedelic and more groovy... I just don't get it. Sorry. Yes, I loved Atmos, and I can really appreciate his music (even though everything he did from his remix of The Only Process and on was called house by a prog-house DJ I know, much before I labeled it like that myself). And if you want some true tribal feeling in progressive music, just listen to Charm's album. I can't think of housy/fluffy grooves as tribal anymore. I mean, listen to Antix - Flipped and to Juno Reactor - Conga Fury, the percussion samples are rather similar, but Conga Fury is the psytrance edge on tribal. Notice the difference?           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

I totally agree with RaverGirl soft prog just dosen't suit outdoor events, if I wanted 2 hear these fluffy, softer tunes I'd go clubbing

Pac man and all the others,
I thing it is quite arrogant of you to decide what’s outdoor and what’s not. I thing dark progressive can be very outdoor, and I thing dark progressive can be very indoor. It depends on how you look at it. For me smooth and soft tribal is very outdoor. If it’s not for you, that’s your decision, not everybody’s

i think acts like Flowjob, Frogacult, Human Blue, Son Kite, Atmos, CON Sequencer, Prototyp, Oryx, Ololiuqui, Vibrasphere, Magnetrixx, Buzz, Timetech, Aircular, Sven Snug or our local A.K.D. make very outdoor music, thanx them, if they wasnt exist i wasnt in trance for a long time now. and they are definetly not clubby influenced or housey attached.

im realy also into club music, from deep house to techno and everything that possibley to mix, but those i wrote up before realy keep the trance outdoor feeling and make it comfortable to listener and dreamer of any kind.

there is alot progressive trance that very border with house/techno music, there is alot that not. please, dont blame and label the unlabelable things.

and thats for you. coze for me club music is something much harder and kicking, much more tribal and sometimes absolutely dark. on the other hand outdoor trance music at morning its something lighter and happier, something tottaly euphoric and nice at its feeling. so, go continue puke !!

@green channel - we just have El Audio and Mapusa Mapusa in next two weeks, so everything going prety well here also           Believe your soul !

headcleaner is amazing
but does the progtrance these days sounds the same?
i used to listen to this stuff when it started, in fact i still like it very much, but i just can't connect it to the music called prog trance now. now it's mostly boring. well at least it flows nicely and don't do a headache.
