Does Goa (as a place) have a special place in your heart as trancers or couldnt you care less about it?
Have you visited Goa because of psy, would it be a kind of pilgrimage for you or will you never go?

Tell us your story..love, hate or indifferent

I dont understand why it should have a special place in my heart. i been to Goa, and it s just a place, the nature is nice, but there are many places on this planet that are much more interesting.

so Goa trance was born there years and years ago, so what? should i feel special about England because the Beatles are from there?
I really don't understand why peopole worship Goa and consider it as the a holly place for psychedelic music!! yes Goa was the place long time ago, freedom and music, and yes maybe it had its charm for trancers, in the time when psytrance was not so widely spread in the world, when parties were rare and special. Today Goa used and abused us trancers!
passion for music is not related to a place, nor a city, you can find your own Goa anywhere in this world

Never been at Goa, and probably never will (I never left Brazil).

I like psytrance. But I don't worship the artists or DJs or any place because of this. I like music, and like to have knowledge about it and the things around it, for example I like to read interviews or articles about psy or anything related to it. So yeah, I'm interested in Goa related information, because some of it is related to the music, and I wish all the best to Goa in general.

goa has a special place in my heart (though i never was there) as a place where it all first took place, i really don't expect it too be more than just a place, but it is magic for me:)

most of the smart people avoid goa now .. theres better beaches , parties , nature etc in many other places .. worshiping that place like some sort of pilgrimage .. lmao .. thats retarded , just look at the kind of people thronging to the parties there .. yuck .. but to be fair there are still some nice places and fun to be had there , but what was once has now been lost to over commercialization and the `cool drug parties` and the crowds they attract .. i wouldn't recommend it to anyone planning to travel to india .. go thailand , perhaps more commercial even than goa but a nicer scene , people in general .. no rubbernecks , not too many drunk goons etc .. maby coz its buddhist country eh ?

Im just in LOVE with the nature and the music there. I try to go every year, either for new year or before/after new year. And everytime the plane is landing in the beautiful goa airport (which looks like a villa), I almost go crazy cuz of excitement.

Eventhough many people saying trance scene in goa is going down and the place has some negative points that Im totally agreed, I still think for those who are really crazy about goa-trance, it's good to go and visit the place at least once. It is a beautiful feeling

For me, its not only about parties and trance. I can relate to Goan culture more than any other.

Goa will always have a special place in my heart. I love it and can still feel the magic.

And i love the fenni!!! And the uraq! And the beer! And the food (oh how i love the food!!)
Its a looong list.

If you can look beyond parties and Trance, theres soooo much more to Goa!! I can, and i guess thats why it is like a pilgrimage for me!

i've been in goa for 2 months this season... and been playing a lot.... this year many parties, not big ones... small... 200-400 people, sometimes smaller... good scene this year....
(but you will only really understand the scene here if you've been comming for many years... most other people dont know what they are talking about) There are good things and bad things.           www.facebook.com/DjJanux

Goa is for sure very special for me.
Sure it's not a great place to go and party nowadays, but I still feel all fuzzy when I get there because it reminds me about the days when it was really happening.

The place as such was never that great IMO, there is more beautiful nature and beaches elsewhere.
But the crowd of tourists used to be very interesting selection of people creating special vibe.
Nowadays the vibe is lost and the tourist crowd feel mostly disillusioned and grumpy many times.
But I do love the Goan people and the energy of the place, so it's still one the top places on the planet to spend the winter months in IMO.

To say "it's just a place" is missing the point...
New Orleans is "just a place" as well, but it holds a special place in the hearts of Jazz lovers because it's the birth place of their scene and hence means more than just a geographical location.
It's about a crowd of people creating a certain vibe that generated something that still after many decades touches the souls of many people, not a spot on the map.

And the fact is Goa was extremely influential in the development of this scene. Almost all of the early arrangers of trance parties as well as producers in the west I know was getting blissed out in Goa and then bringing that vibe back to their home countries.

Goa from the perspective of this scene is a crowd of people that shape it, a very special vibe and like the cliché says, a state of mind.
Maybe the scene would have sprung up somewhere else if Goa didn't exist, but in Thailand and Ibiza they embraced the commercial housey aspects and Goa was the place where that party scene started first and that always attracted the crowd that liked to explore the psychedelic and trancey aspects to the maximum.
