I think there are a few reasons for antagonism toward Skazi…

1. As I understand it – there isn’t really the same “hard dance” scene in Israel that there may be in the UK or Germany – so there isn’t really the same distinction between scenes. In most other countries – Skazi (or Astrix or many others come to that) wouldn’t really be lumped in with the psy acts and no psy folk would have a problem with him.

2. Psy-trance is incredibly snobbish – particularly with regards to “authenticity”. The high proportion of rich kids is well documented. There is no point valuing commercial success, if this is the very aspect of their parent’s life that they are rebelling against. So an ever decreasing view of what is “authentic” is the thing that is most valued. Skazi is not viewed as authentic.

3. I’m particularly proud of myself for not going on a long rant about metal in trance, and if so many like it so much, why don’t they all f*ck off back to their Pantera albums instead of inflicting p*ss poor metal on dancefloors the world over... Because that sort of rant is just childish and not very helpful..

a little bit

a lot of todays producers are using effects that skazi used in the begining of his carrer..a conclusion: 2 me his early work was very good (animal), but after that he never found a "formulae"that could keep is level of prodution good enough, as the 1st albom..
but still is/was a source of inspiration 2 many people.
whether u like it or not.           ...

music is a matter of taste, there is no point hating an artists because of his style, and there are so many artists that i think make bad/boring music.....

when i discovered trance and Nature Parties as they were once called,we use to come to a dark part of a forrest and wonder around/dance to the sounds of some unknown person/alien/dj, lurking under a tree with a flashlight in his mouth....
Skazi perfected the "Show" element in todays huge "events",with a stage that wouldnt shame Metallica and a vibe of a rock concert, meaning the GRAND SUPER STAR is on the stage so come on people CHEEEEEEER! then LIGHTS! FIREWORKS! and GOD emerges from the misty shadows armed with a guitar.....WOW!
once people danced and wondered all over the place in different directions now everyone faces the stage and claps every time the DJ changes or does something entertaining....not my cup of tea! Skazi again is the epitome of that......

Cheers.

I don’t know man, I just hate Skazi because everyone else does.
I'm a perfect sheep wandering in a green field filled with lies and corruption. I will not think for my self. Monkey say, monkey do.

yep.....like Metallica...and many MANY other groups....bands ....artists.

They all change at some point. Its called getting older.

Do you eat chicken EVERYNITE for supper?

Do you paint an apple or ONLY fruit when you paint?

Come on....

everyone gets bored huh!
He reached success with that style.....why keep doing the same?

Once you reach your goal.....do you stop?

No!....u keep trying and pushing.

You all liked him once.....and probably will again one day!

Watch out.....he might just GET YA girlfriend!

KEKEKEKEKEKEKEKE

Seriously.....i think Skazi LOVES it when everyone gives him stick.

How many threads are there now?

If thats not promotion....well...then i dunno what is.

There is no such thing as bad publicity!
If he turns around now....and starts making tunes you like....you would all be there is a FLASH!
Forgetting all these bad things you said!

Also remember.....its SKAZI you don;t like. NOT Asher!

90% of you don't know Asher....so don't bash him personally ok?!

i think the bashing comes from the idea that he sometime , had a chance to go to the next level, and somehow he stopped.
Found his formulae and stood still, repeating himself to exaution.

and we know how Psypeople feel about routine.

Plus it gives the impression that there is no next level after that, and that only pisses people off.

imo I think that he has, like many others, some responsabilitie the this scene.
To change it a little, risk some unexplored ground.
This is how trance appeared in the first place, and themselves too..

The following lines are borrowed from the ‘About’ section in Chemical Crew website :

“Welcome to Chemical Crew web space a subsidiary of B.S.B Media- a new
evolution in hardcore dance floor electronic music…

…..B.S.B Media Co. specializes in promoting artists, organizing musical
events and managing several fashion labels including Kappa,
Oscar de la Renta and several other labels in which B.S.B Media is
a shareholder. Based in Mexico city , B.S.B Media recently decided to
expand internationally and invest in a new well known music label, based in Israel….

…..Headed and owned by Asher Swissa, D.J Skazi, and his long time
partner Asaf Bibas together with B.S.B Media aim to establish a
leading international brand in the music industry….

……D.J Skazi, is one of the leading techno/trance artists worldwide and
leader of a new uprising dance floor style that's already capturing the
dance floor arenas over the world…..

……To solidify its market position B.S.B Media, decided to create a new
music label that will follow D.J Skazi's lead in music creation.
The new label, Chemical Crew, will be headed by D.J Skazi and managed
by Igal Bitton, owner of B.S.B Media, Asaf Bibas and Asher Swissa…..

…..Our goal is to create a business relationship that will benefit our clients as
well as B.S.B. media, we are here to help.”

I don’t know if those lines can leave you unaffected, but I can’t help feeling a bit uneasy….too much business and profit orientation and Asher on top of it all ( or maybe a puppet of it all?). Maybe I’m getting melodramatic here, I’ve always appreciated good music apart from social/ financial/ public relations and it’s like sth is breaking inside of me when the dingy parts of music industry are coming to light (for example, I still remember how I felt about a deeply favourite band when I saw pictures of Bono shaking hands with Bush).
I used to like Skazi a lot, but not anymore, man I ‘m not even sure if he can find himself any moments of peace for inspiration and composition within this tornado of marketing and business and contracts…..
