recently had the chance to compare my xox (resonance power supply moded) with the real tb 303
programmed the same pattern into both
hit play on both
and they both started to phase against each other
the difference in sound is virtually non exsistent
just make sure you buy it from a reputable company as ive heard some horror stories of others buying premade ones that are full of shitty cheap components wired together by a chimpanzie

They sound slightly different, and I think its mainly to do that cut-off frequency of the 303 is set at a slightly higher value....or sounds like it anyway.
Anyway, I am planning on getting one soon(ish)
Thanks for the test mate.
Peace out.

real 303 sound better to me in that example, it sound like they have slighy different caractere but could be just cause of that cut off freq that don t sound matched... |

trust me mate
when you stick a distortion on this thing NO ONE can tell the difference
plus its the only clone that will let you do the Accent rest thingy

is a sequence plugged into a 303's internal seqeuencer any different from the same sequence written in a host DAWs piano roll?
I know that one of the weird characteristics of the 303 is that it starts the slide before the note ends as it has the pattern already loaded...does this work without the internal sequencer??

Well yeah, in comparison to a standard MIDI clip the 303 sequencer is pretty unintuitive. I don't like using it. However, the question remains...if you write in a pattern in the internal sequencer with slides n stuff can you make the same exact pattern without the internal sequencer?

pretty much
the sequencing on the xox is pretty cool though
set loop points in a pattern, reverse, transpose nudge left and right..theres also a preprogrammed sort of random that shuffles the steps around....
and swing
ive had better results using it as sync source and recording rhe midi out whilst throwing sequencies around then playing them back
