Hi guys!

I am getting very limited by my slow Lenovo laptop and want the ultimate upgrade.

Have used a lot of time surfing the web for reviews and recommendations, but are still very uncertain what to get.

People are saying very different things on different forums and reviews and such.
And since this is my favorite forum, and I know there are some really smart guys here, i was thinking here is the right place to get some final tips before making the most costly purchase in my life...

Should I go for the high end commercial brand computer like HP or Lenovo or a custom specialized music laptop like the Rain Livebook or Scan preformance?

I don't want to switch to mac, i love my windows based programs
And I don't care about the price tag, I want the badest ass!

Any tips would be highly appreciated.

Love, light and SOUND!

I had one Asus 3 years ago, after 3 gigs it started to falling apart, first the space button got off from the keyboard, then the plastic on the screen got broken, the screen lost the contact with the electricity, and on top of that it was super heated...
Now i got Dell and it doesn't have any problem after year and a half, so when choosing the ultimate Laptop, make sure there is good quality and a long guarantee, and then choose the power           VA - Spiritual Science out now!

Thanks for the tips demoniac...

I'll be sure to pick a sturdy one with a 3year guarantee.

By the way I love your new album

I got an ASUS laptop within the past year. Best laptop I've ever owned (this is my 5th laptop).

Nice, I keep hearing good stuff about the Asus'es.

But I cant say I always have heard good stuff about Dell.
At least before Dell where known for making horrible cheap quality shit.
Now I see they are winning awards, making computers targeted to musicians and even this:

Very interesting, absolutlely worth digging deeper into...

I heard something about noise in the output's in some of the Asus and HP laptops. This makes me want to go for one especially made for music production.

The Dell precision M6600 is getting very nice reviews, but it seems like i can get better specs for the money with a Scan or Rain Livebook 2.
Please correct me if you know I'm wrong.

The Livebook gets better reviews but there are very few user reviews..

But then with the Rain I can choose faster CPU, and has a side cache drive that might be useful. Also it is a little cheaper...

maybe an alienware? XD           "The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures."

If you can find one with the power you want, I'd recommend another Lenovo just for the bombproof hardware. My i5 Edge is fantastic.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

My bandmate Rama has an Edge almost identical to mine. It fell 8ft off the table on stage, onto the dancefloor. The screen broke but the hard drive was protected by the Lenovo anti-shock system (senses when the laptop is falling and parks the hard drive in mid-air); the laptop kept running and there was no noticeable damage to the case. It was probably a lucky landing if the case didn't break, but still, that counts as bombproof in our world!

The screen cost £90 to fix.
