Did Somebody noticed that there are almost 0 Trance Artists or DJs that are Women or it just me? Is it a problem that a PLUR culture is dominated by one sex? Are the women really influencing this culture (except being a nice decoration in prties). Sorry for the provocative style, I love ya all. If this subject was discussed in the past, I'll be happy to get the links and if not... It just make the questions I've raised more disturbing.

It's true
In many clubs for ex, you won't enter unless you have a girl with you.
Most of the electronic music crowd is based on men, and less women.
It's like most of the internet users are also male.
Why? IMO a few factors:
a. women are less open minded (many of them, not all of them)
b. although we are a modern society, we do tend to give women the feeling of: be gentle, be pretty, and don't be too intelligent.
c. by nature women have different tastes.
It's like asking: why are most teachers women? Cause we're different by nature.

Now I'm a female, and I'm proud to be
And I like trance!!!
:D

Well there are a couple girls here and there:

half of Analog Pussy
half of ManMadeMan (if i'm not mistaken)
Miranda (whose last album was horrible, but anyway..)
Stella Nutella (only DJ, but she rocks)
your own Gula K (who i'm told is great too)
and a few more...

But I'd rather have a girl by my side on the dancefloor than on the DJ booth ;-)

i think the luck of weman in trance is connected to the fact it is kind of art that involve computers and using softwares and lots of techic stuff...

its sound bad!

weman in our buisness are really more pretty things than creative mind!

i still hope it will be changed soon

we need more like gula!

Well Helena (just love your nick), as far as I'm concerned, I never meant to relate good looks (or lack thereof) and quality of work. I never heard this chick djing, but i had the chance to see some pics, and I found her quite a striking beauty, that's why i wrote what i wrote.
Anyway, i think you girls are more than free to comment on men's looks too :-) (though i think we are going dangerously OT here).

Anyway, just wanna add to the list that here in Brazil we got a pretty good female DJ too, Tati is her name, and she rocks the dancefloor big time.
Bom Bom!
