Wizzy nosie - Wlectro Theater (Candyflip Rec. 2003)

What can i say... those guys know how to make psychedelia. i listened to this album several of times b4 i got this review to you all falks, and what can i say : Power Power Power and more Power :

1. Radical Payne my favorite track in the album. a great track that has so much power yet is groovy for the shakers.
perfect for the early morning time. the track got a punchy drums and right amount of feelingand melodic touches to be a dancefloor hit.

2. Screwheads Remix a great up to date remix for a great old track. i liked the sound fx in the background. this track's sounds reminds me
of another great remix (from MOS) specialy at the distorted sound arround the mid part.
it is a powerfull yet flowing track for morning and night sets.

3. Elecktro Theater this track earned to be also the title of this album.
nice power lines that gets you into the mood right at the start of the track.got nice groove at the middle of the track
followed by this great sample of a clock ticking and after that get back to be powerfull again.
really liked the autonations at the end of the track and the loop work on this one.

4. Paradise Lost begins streight to the point without a long intro which i like.
develope with a power chord and good fx work and nice pads.
got a good drive at the bassline. a streight forward track that wont let you go till the end with those great power chords.

5. Mental Discipline nice track with absolutly great kick and bassline work.
this track from the wizzines takes you into tripines less power then the others.
but still doing his job, cool sample at the end.

6. Demented Drum P.1 a full on track that starts with a familiar groove we are now experiancing in our scene,
it developes into a crazy distorted tune which makes him more agressive.
those who knows Wizzy noise music for a while can relate to what im going to say about it :
FullOn Wizzines style ! i bet it turned upside down lots of dabcefloors.

7. Timeline i can listen to the beging of this track all day long.
perfect fatty basslines filled good feelers untill the opening of the distorted melody
that you can hear at the background that taking this trackto a higher level.
and stays like this untill the last part with a good percousion work.

8. Demented Drum P.2 nice power tune , served with good fx work and crunchy sounds,
very atmospheic break at the middle with good sample
of an arabic muazin prays for alla.followed with a powerfull ending.

9. Dreamwave loopy track with nice snair and hihat work along with crunchy rotating sounds.
evolves into a crazy, full onish sound track. not my cup of coffee.

10. Outmosphere a nice finish track that conclude the new power sound of Wizzy Noise,
superb break b4 the last part. few sounds reminding me
of a certain Ibiza sound with allot of powwer. nice ending to the album.

summery : a very good album for the power lovers. i bet you will like to hear them live.
good production sound for the Candyflip crew , with a very nice disigned cover that lookes like an old school technical design with the girlish in the front. i would go and buy it for sure.

my favorite tunes were : 1(!) , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 , 10(!)

Liked this cd, but cant call this music original a kind of mix of everything with some more techno rhythm(which is sounds a bit weak for techno to say a truth) and good psychedelia in the mix, but again just recycled, and not refreshing...i like this cd actually just because it reminds me of X Dream and Delta in some parts ....

I don't think the cd resembles the latest X-Dream or Delta works in any way....the early Wizzy works had obvious X-Dream influences but since then they have evolved and so have X-Dream/Delta...

Its been a while since this got released but I didn't have the free time to write a review before. I'm currently laying in my summer apartment on the sea. The wind outside is blowing really heavy. My parents are in Zagreb and I'm stuck here writing reviews. The water was fantastic a couple of days ago but today it was freezing cold coz of the wind which has started to blow again. I watered the garden and now I'm sitting really comfortable like, drinking mineral water and holding the laptop in my...lap Ok I think I've said enough, lets get started with this one.

The last wizzy noise album cyclotron wasn't really that special to me. I liked the first one more and when I heard this one was gonna be quite different I couldn't wait to get it. Thnx to the guys @ candyflip. The cover design of the album is nice, kind has a japanese feeling to it and I love that. The box is also made of some special paper and it doesn't have any plastic parts. I guess it's more economic that way but I don't like it coz when you take the cd out you have to kinda tarnish it with your fingers. But I've stalled long enough. Onto the music

1. Radical Payne

The first track on the album starts with a sample from the max payne game. The sample is from the intro of the game. The wizzy guys are obviously into games since this isn't the first time they sampled something like this. Anyway this track is just WOOOOOW! I couldn't believe it when I played it on my speakers. This style is fantastic. Pounding, electric, dark, POWERFULL!! and of course, more wizzy then ever. After the dark beat starts there are lots of windy sounds in the background and the atmosphere is really dark. As the track slowly develops the kick starts to get more agressive as well as the high hats. Then the spooky wizzy sounds pop in, there is a short drop and it starts again with more electricity It keeps slowly developing and driving you perfectly until it comes to a short break and then the melody kicks in...MAAAAN this blows me away totaly. This track is the perfect full on madness track for any night set. When I wrote the croatian review of this I had to listen to it 5 times till I could sit down and write something. After a while it stops and the kicks really get the attention they deserve. Some wizzy sounds appear again and begin to take control of the track. It's just fantastic how dynamic this track is. About 2 minutes before the end there is a break and another wizzy theme comes in. This one is just indescribeble. If I was at home now I'd probably jump around my room like crazy to this one. Nothing more to say, one of the best full on tracks I've heard in quite a while. Can't keep still when I listen to it.

2. Screwheads (Remix)

After such a great intro to the album the expectations get really up. The next track isn't so good though. It starts kind normal but has a nice flow and things come up just when they have to. The high hats here get a bit more attention as well as some screeching sounds in the background. After a while there is a nice break and the main theme comes in. It's nice but nothing special. It doesn't change for quite a while like this. Around 2:30 minutes before the end some wizzy sounds pop in and they are quite nice. They sound a bit similar to the ones in the first track and they even appear at the same time. Overall I find this track to be among the weaker ones.

3. Elecktro Theatre

Well now, this is much better. I can see why it's called ELECKTRO...some really electric sounds pop in right at the start of the track. Some great percussion work also comes into notice after a short while but the electric sounds stay in focus all the time and really give a fantastic atmosphere, and when you look at the cover of the cd it really matches the style. Then suddenly there is a break and a sample of a ticking clock comes in with some nice atmosphere sounds. But it starts again and then the main theme comes in. This one is soooo GROOVY!!. I love it. You just have to move your feet (or ass ) to this one. It dominates the track for quite a while along with the electric samples from the start. There are also some weak fadings from left to right on my headphones when I listen to it. The main theme appears again but this time its like broken into pieces, it sounds as if they took the theme and only let every other 2 seconds of it play...or something, never mind The clock comes in again and the theme starts again in its original form. Great track!

4. Paradise Lost

This one is a lot darker and a bit more driving. The bassline is also more noticed here. It really takes a while before this track starts to get interesting but since it's driving real fast it really surves its pourpuse on the dancefloor. Some great hi freq sounds come in and you really have the atmosphere of riding on the wind. Around the middle of the track the main theme starts to develop but as everything else it takes a while to start. When it finally does it blows away. It's really electric and the atmosphere gets kinda sad, well maybe not that sad but definetly kinda nostalgic. Its as if the guys really respect the roots of the electronic music, love that. Even though the track isn't that interesting when you listen to it at home I'm sure it blasts the dancefloors away.

5. Mental Discipline

Now this is brutal! The intro isn't that different from the others but the kick is really pounding and the high hats and percussions are really noticed. Some dark wizzy sounds also appear and everything is filled with hi freq sounds fighting with each other, it's also good that nothing is distorted here as I can't stand that sometimes. Somewhere around the middle this track really starts to get interesting. There is this fantastic uplifting melody which kinda reminds me of the game wipeout in terms of style, it really starts to drive the track and gives it so much elecricity Then it starts to turn to acid sound and just keeps the uplifting spirit. When it finally gets to its climax something fantastic happens. A vocoder pops in. Man I just love them. Even though it can't match the sub6 one from el novasion its really POWERFULL. It just makes you go mad! I don't know what it says entirely coz its a bit distorted and I don't mind. The acid sounds from the background really get heavy as the vocoded voice sings its part. Fantastic track, the most powerfull one here.           DJ Dovla | Interchill Records, Flow Records

6. Demented Drum Pt. 1

This one is really fast and just keeps driving. It's a bit more simple in structure but it's really wizzy and a lot more melodic. The main theme pops in very soon but in the background. The high hats and bassline seem to prevail for a while. Then it just takes everything to the next level. Every single track element just gets more electrified. This one is perfect for dancefloor madness. It drives and drives and drives until there is a micro short break...and the main theme kicks in. This one is so MASSIVE, just can't keep still to it. The background starts to fill up with really quiet wizzy(tm) sounds. This track isn't that complex and diverse but it just keeps on getting faster and faster till it comes to a break about 2 minutes before the end..and then it gets even more electric, makes hair stand out on places where you didn't even know you had hair Another great track.

7. Timeline

This one has a kinda sad intro and the beat is a bit different from the other tracks. Lots of nice tribal sounds start appearing and the track starts to drive a bit. But the dark and gloomy background is always present. It takes a while before things start to get interesting, somewhere near the middle of the track this really nice kinda acid melody punches in but it remains in the background nicely driving the track. After a while a really nice night melody comes in and then the wizzy samples just take over for a while. But overall I didn't find this track to be so special. It's nice but probably the weakest track on the album.

8. Demented Drum Pt. 2

Well this is obviously the sequel to demented drum pt. 1 and as all sequels it's "bigger badder, faster...double the action, tripple the excitement ...actually, I didn't like it that much, it has the same structure of the first one but the each element is tweaked a bit different. What I really didn't like about is the anoyying voice sample in the background. Otherwise it's a nice track, when you listen to it a bit better you see that all the elements from the first one are there so I don't feel the need to write about them again. Nice track, part 1 is better though, as with much of todays movies

9. Dreamwave

When I saw the name I though this would be an ambient track, no way This one really has a great beat. More groovy then any other track I think. At the start some flanger effects pop in and there is a nice amount of hi freq sounds again, percussions to be more precise. It also sounds kinda electrified but the real stuff comes in somewhere after 2:30 minutes. The sounds keep getting really electro like and there is this fantastic theme which is really trippy and REALLY dynamic, it keeps going up and down driving you backwards and forwards, gotta listen to this one with the headphones. Of course the trademark wizzy sounds also pop in here, as they do in all the tracks, you gotta love them. Before the end there is this really nice night melody, I cant describe how great it is to listen to this when the wind is blowing outside my apartment and the only light I have is the one coming from my laptop. I think I'll listen to this track one more time, it really pictures the atmosphere here very well...too bad the sea water here is now freezing cold..anywayz..Great track!

10. Outmosphere

Now this is really different, the beat kind sounds dumb at first but when the distorsions and trippy sounds pop in it sounds great. I think distortions are something you have to take great care of, coz when someone messes them up the whole track is ruined. They didn't to that here. Anyway this track is more melodic than any other, thats why I think this one is my second favorite here. Maybe it sounds cheesy but I love it all the same, first there is this wizzy theme which kinda prepares you for the real stuff. Then the melody kicks in and it just brings a big smile to my face. It does take a while before it all starts but it's just fantastic and this track really sounds a whole lot different from the others. Can't really describe the melody and I don't want to, I'll just enjoy it instead. But near the end it reveals itself completly and finishes the album perfectly. A fantastic end to a fantastic album!

Well, what to say, this isnt the most original album of the year, lots of people told me that they didn't like it, but I think it's an album where we truly see how one really destinct style has been polished to perfection, when I first listened to this album I said that this is a perfect album and I haven't said that in a really long time. The wizzy guys have perfectly combined their tech trance style from the previous album(which I thought to be a bit too boring) with full on. This is great dancefloor material but it's also something you can really enjoy listening to on your headphones. This one will surely be in my player for a long time. When I win the lottery these guys will be first on my list to book here in Croatia           DJ Dovla | Interchill Records, Flow Records

I must tell you that Uzo (Greece alcohol drink) must have done a great job on this amazing talented artists, Micky Noise and Uriel.
After listening to the album a few times and after falling in love with it I decides to try setting an interview with Wizzy Noise - Soon you will enjoy an exclusive interview for psymag

I'll start with reviewing the new "Electro Theatre" album.

The album opens with a perfect rocking track, Radical Payne, all done masterfully and skillfully, great groovy bass line , dark atmosphere , and the right amount of leads in just the perfect time, excellent work.
Great opener that will catch your ears in any good dj set, A real diamond !!!
The 2nd track, Screwheads Remix, is a bit more aggressive, less melodic, nice techno atmosphere merged with psy elements.
Elecktro Theater, a long time pass since I have heard something so fresh, the track is built very slowly and carefully full of dialog between sounds, I just didn't know what to do with myself from all the joy, amazing bass line with amazing pads, why the hell it's so short ???
Paradise Lost ,is another start in the dark sky that Wizzy Noise painted for us (one of my most beloved on this album).
As the albums progresses through track, its atmosphere becomes less aggressive and even a bit tribal (Dark tribal essence).

Demented Drum part 1 is another evil master work that evolve great melodies with great change at 5:43 , you got to check this vibe !
Timeline is a bit faster then the one before and fits the dance floor perfectly with a great drive and elegance.
Dreamwave , great sounds with an interesting rhythmic section, techno elements, highly intelligent.

As a whole this is a great album holding great structure , it's a pleasure to hear it from beginning to end.
Wizzy Noise serve us their unique trance style, a combination of elements taken from the techno and industrial worlds, all produced with great charisma and a professional touch. RECOMMENDED!!!
