On August 14, 2004, Cosmic Babies presents...
Uriel of WIZZY NOISE
Here to promote the release of Wizzy Noise's fourth album "Electro-Theatre" on Spun Recordings (Spain), Uriel will be treating us to a special 3-hour DJ set full of fresh material from the prolific Wizzy studio (www.wizzynoise.gr). Expect a night of complex and compelling psychedelic techno-trance brought to you by one of the global underground trance scene's most respected production units.

Urban Aliens
Chill-Out room featuring ambient and down-tempo by Marz and guests.
Psychedelic Fluoro Deco provided by Neil Gibson (see http://www.neilgibson.ca).
The Venue: FUNHAUS - located at 526 Queen Street West and featuring 30,000 watts of sound, laser lights, video projection, excellent layout and friendly staff.
Admission: $20 before 11pm - $25 before midnight - $30 after midnight (get there early!)

Well I'm going, I saw Wizzy in Skopje, Macedonia, amazing party. It's all up to the crowd, I wanna see the same Isrealis that were at the Astral event @ guv to come to this, they need to start making more parties like this happen with original psy vibe. |

Yes....my bad! The 4th album is "Stereo Electric"...I keep getting those two titles mixed up 
Anyway, yes this will be a true psychedelic party, not some Guvernment heat-box where you're rammed in with 2000 sweaty shirtless e-tards. Our venue has A/C and there'll a strong psy crowd but still room enough to dance all night.

I just saw a Wizzy Noise DJ set at Enosa....and I sincerely hafta tell you....this was some incredibly deep and beautiful new material. I saw these guys live, 4 years ago in Yokohama...playing hard electro-tekno..and their sound has refined and improved so much it's just unrecgnizable... really classy high-end sound-pictures and brain-pixel comics ...right up there with the hottest names in the scene.
my brain is tired from a long day, and I don't have a bunch of poetic adjectives to describe what I heard....
but it was really deep, beautiful, good and KILLA. inspiring. This is not the Wizzy Noise of years past..it is a new chapter... i wouldn't think twice about going to this party....! |

To the guy asking how toronto is for parties: it will likely depend on what kind of music you like. However, overall to me Toronto seems like a young scene, full of energy (as those young scenes tend to be).
By "young" I mean that it is not an established scene the way the scene has gotten in some European countries. In a sentence, people still generally fear the word "rave" here.

But if soFT is asking about the psy scene in particular, Toronto rivals any other major scene in North America, most notably NY, SF and Mtl. We have major acts coming through here regularly and there's a series of high-end festivals in the area throughout the summer. Toronto's had a psychedelic scene for over ten years now so the crowd is fairly developed as well...you'll find that they bring the true psychedelic spirit and tend to know the music very well. |

i'd love to move some place with an active psy scene. it seems there is a chance ill be going to toronto, so thats good luck  its too bad i wont be there for this one. |

Yeah sorry, the psy scene in Toronto isn't bad compared to the US scene (from what I've seen).
Of course, that's limited to my going to San Fran, being told it has a huge psy scene, going to various record shops and finding one (albeit outdoor) party going on in the week and a half I was there. Didn't seem so huge then ... :)
Comparing to EU was more what I was thinking, and I wouldn't want ppl to get the impression that the Toronto psy scene regularly throws 1000+ person events.

Although, it should be pointed out that there were (to the best of my knowledge) four outdoor psytrance parties this summer alone, which ain't bad! :)

Toronto is fairly nice... we could use some new blood though  parties are nice, there are several companies throwing mid-scale events with nice deco, crowds, vibes, energy, and there's plenty of talented local djs and room for more if a few additional promoters spring up throwing events...
As for the wizzy party... I wasn't there too long but it was good.. loved the deco, tunes were rockin'...
