At night, when the tempature is hovering around 0 F, the DJ's fingers would turn blue. However snow creates a nice sound absorbant, cozy, feeling.
In the past we've done the "DMT Ski Lodge"; 30 people in a four-bedroom rented cabin, tripping their balls (and yonis) off while some venture out to ski. I just stand outside in the snowey forest and listen to the trees talk to each other.
We just got about a foot of snow here in Philadelphia.

How do speakers and amplifiers respond to cold weather? I guess its necessary to play on low volume a bit to warm them up, but will it work for full power? |

there is allways some outdoor parties in switzerland in winter
i remember one really good one a few years ago near davos
outdoors fully with 2m snow
they made some chai and chill iglus
snow sculptures and it was a really great party
if you dress up right with comfy clothes ,moon boots
gloves and so on its just great
as for the dj its simple there was a gas heater just around them in the dj booth
was very very cozy and wasnt a problem for me to play
so perhaps it depends from where you are
some years ago a friend of mine came for a visit
he is a real rasta he was freezing his ass off in switzerland
and allmost lost his dreadz on the jungfraujoch

Hell yeh. It would be amazing to do such a thing in winter, speciffically in a forest. With snow covering everything, lights would just twinkle like stars off ever flake of snow. Thanks to global warming, it dosent get too cold here anymore in winter (compared to the near -40 C weather we had 15 years ago).
It would be a neat thing to do for me if I had the money. I'm in Canada, Southern Ontario to be exact. We dont have any parties here apart from some shit in a tiny club, bad DJ, and a bunch of kids strung out on cheap MDMA pills. It's a bad 'vibe'. Anyway, I live across the street from a skihill. It would be really nice to setup on the top of a hill. Lights, music, and lots of sking and sledding down the hill. Untill that maricle happens, its just me and piles upon piles of CD's and sitting endlessly in my room.

in maximum a month it will be sure if the party will be realized or not

If anyone is interested I have a location in switzerland lost in a deep magical forest, only accesible by ski/snowboard, foot(40minutes) or snowmobile.
We did a family party here on the fullmoon of 04.04.04 it was wicked, but would be cool on december/january too!

Well .. Interesting question and topic and the answer is yes and no . I can agree with y that if all is happening in sudan , sumeliya or ethyopiya or others countrys over africa (Or even in some of the asias ones) so there is no meaning , But even here in israel i went to a party at the end of the winter (Firs party outdoor at the spring time) And i couldt stand that fu__ing cold at 2-5 am . I think we sould not fight with the nature laws .

1 or 2 connected covered 30 foot geodesic domes (you can make them yourself, it's easy), a few propane heaters, lots of carpet, pillows, and bodies - and a huge snow expanse outside to go play in under the stars..
we're planning something of the sort for this winter..
..it's just another party.. |

a question still remains open:
what if anybody out of his mind goes away alone and sits down somewhere, closes his eyes and starts tripping: there's the danger that he might freeze and die.
it's not psyence-fiction, a friend of mine almost died like that !!!!!! luckily somebody found him after three hours that he was sleeping in the snow...!!!!!!
