Why there isn't any Prog psyparties in London?

Hello there people. Just a question that I have for quite some time.

Although I know a lot of party people that like Progressive trance like German stuff and Scandotrance, parties with these kind of artists don't really happen (with the exception of Son Kite that played about a month ago).
It seems that there is a constant recycling of the same projects playing again and again all the time. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to sound offensive towards the artists that are being booked at the moment, but isn't it about variety and quality at the same time?

In my humble opinion I don't think that there is much variety in the London trance scene nowadays... I mean there are projects like Ticon, SBK, Genetic Spin, Human Blue, Buzzmonx, and numerous others that have never played in the UK or haven't played for a really long time and I would love to hear them playing.

I would like to hear what you have to say about it.
Don't hope 2 much 4 something cause u may end up getting it...

there is not a large enough progressive crowd in london to sustain parties with the big prog. acts you mention. if there was we would do it. however, there may be a few things next year. wait and see

also, in the last year the following progressive acts have played in london : ticon, bitmonx, POTS, son kite, oryx. so it is not quite as bleak as you make out.          >>love will tear us apart...<<

As I can recall, Bitmonx, POTS , D-Nox & Space Safari played all in the same party @ the EQ Center.
It was a really Sound party, I think it was the Wonderland Crew.
Well...Since then and before it's been relly WEAK in London on the Progressive Scene.
I must admit that as Tom says the crowd who loves Prog isn't big Enuf to hold a main room in a comercial party.
And that is why my friends it would be so nice if the lineups would represent both progressive & full-on.
a party should be like a magical Journey??!

Here's and idea..incorporate progressive into the full on party's as psy-trance has such a variaty of styles i find the better party's are the ones that tell the whole story!

I would also go for that psychocouch, but unfortunately this is not the case in London parties. It's either this or that...

There's not really a mixture of different styles on the same stage.           Don't hope 2 much 4 something cause u may end up getting it...

I am thinking about moving back to London again and start to organise some Acha parties as we used to between 1996 - 1998. Then there will be progressive parties for sure!

It's time for London to break out of the Full On sleep and wake up a little.

Mixed parties with progressive trance, progressive house and Electro is a rare thing but maybe not for so long

there are people who like progressive trance in london?
one of the very best parties i've been to built from house thru electro/prog to full-on (tho the Twisted guys play easily the best house sets i've heard). may be the same problem as techno parties in london - the tunes are too minimal to play out for very long, and most djs leave tracks playing for far too long. four decks is the way to go!
there are rather a lot of people i know who won't go if the word progressive appears anywhere on the flyer (unless it's in another room) - imo mixing the two is at best risky, which is not to say that london couldn't do with a good, regular prog night.
also, the crowd is generally a little, er, more mature and - dare i say it - sober at progressive do's, no??

Yes, circutviii, there are people who like Prog psytrance in London no matter how weird it may sound.

It's all about having choices...

And at the moment there isn't much of a choice...that's all I'm saying.

London is under a Full-on fever which is fine by me cause most people like this style, but as I said, not much of a choice these days...           Don't hope 2 much 4 something cause u may end up getting it...

It's actually a bit sad. London have always to me been a City with multiple choices when it come to music. Maybe the wrong and musically narrowminded people have taken over the party scene? Just like in Denmark where it's the same small mafia organising everything and letting the same few boring Dj's play each weekend. London seem to need a turnover and to wake up a little. Anyway Full-On is at it's end of the road. Soon it will be long forgotten and hopefully something more diverse will take over.

Its expensive to put on parties anywhere- none more so than London, which means its a very costly business to take risks. Lots & lots of parties have lost a *lot* of money over the years - which can lead to conservative line ups...

But if you think there is a gap in the market - theres nothing to stop anyone hiring a venue themselves, booking the acts they want to see or think would do well, print up the flyers and put on a party!

WOWOWOOO..
Looking at the past.. from 96 I've seen the full-on going up and down at least three times, but everytime it went down, after a while it came out again with a new style, more powerfull and more attractive so.. I believe we cannot kill the music, we can only change it..
