...like non-innovative music?
is this some kind of strange illness or something? I don't think anyone will have a correct answer......

huge amount of ppl just like listening to the same recycled music all over again - it's like it doesn't matter if music is the same.

It's just something that is hard for me to understand that's all. Maybe i'm dumb...

Just like in most scenes, what works on the dancefloor is enough. The only difference is that the psytrance scene is smaller so only in the last 3-4 years the artists aim at the dancefloor and not towards something else.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

Uh, it's not a matter of taste?
For example, Rinkadink stuff is very different from ordinary full on. You can choose what to hear (expect in parties, but you can choose the parties you go to).

The problem generally is: Big parties usually have Big names... I surelly respect and even like the stuff from all big name artists (probably the same ones you say that do non-innovative stuff), but it's not good to went to parties and ONLY hear the most well know music...
Respect!

I'm not just talking about parties..... hell stuffed on alcohol and E I wouldn't care either.

Talking about dj's who 'enjoy' playing it all over again - at home, to friends etc etc
Talking about ppl who listen to this music at home, at friends places - in the car..... all the time..... non innovative music. Plus - it sells !           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

People want to hear good music over and over again.
Good music doesn't have to be original.

I don't think all the current psy is as similar as most ppl complain, actually, in my opinion I think we've got quite a lot of variety to choose from....

Yeah, its all 4/4, all the tracks have a kick and a bass (thank god lol) hi-hats, snare, etc, but I think originality comes in the form of very simple ideas, simple tweaks and things that sometimes only last for half a second but for me its what makes the diference...

When I'm listening to a tune at home and sudenlly a very weird thing accurs in a brake or something like that, those kinds of things that just make you think "how da hell did they do that???", and you have to go back and listen to it 3 or 4 times....

for me thats what makes a track inovative, those simple original ideas that make the diference....

If I want to listen to something completelly diferent then I'll just put some diferent style of music other than trance

doesn't have to be Completetly different mate for me at least.....

but no matter what - today I hear a track and it sounds exactly the same as the other one... If it has one or 2 effects that are a bit different - it doesn't really innovate anything for the music idea... and ppl still listen to it like it's totally new track ! Btw in a party, it's even less different from each other...

Mike - you really wanna tell me that recycled music really makes you excited each time you hear a track?

And folks - you actually wanna tell me that there is a big variety? I have ears.... I listen - where is that variety goes?           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

this is a quite strange thing that happens

for example commercial music is usually music that everyone agrees is not good/special/cool/etc/etc but everyone also agrees that its the one that sells the most. its quite a paradox, it happens in all kind of musics and scenes.

and i really dont know what factor/combination of factors would explain this. advertisements sure help, but people -like- commercial music, people like repetitive, formulaic non-innovative full on, and that is not only reserved to the dancefloor, djs dont play full on because they think its "effective", they play it because they like it and they know that people like it too.

its strange but the whole world works like this, maybe the average person who consumes music wants music that doesnt make him think so much, music that has the same texture than tv, just something to do/hear when you are bored, or sad, or happy, or all three. different and innovative music is difficult to accept at once, you have to pay attention to it, you have to get used to it, and also assimilate the little molecular changes that it does to you. so maybe thats why, people dont want to think, or pay attention to something, they just want to forget about everything, the same as watching tv.

anyways i never imagined that shallow level of music would appear on psytrance, but well this happens when a scene grows and its not so bad as long as there are a few artists still trying to disturb people's minds.           Psychedelic Trance from Argentina

I understand you Trip, most stuff is very innovative I can't really understand who is buying all this, but there are always 10% of outstanding music.

Just because the music is innovative doesn't mean the music is necessarily good. I feel like the innovative/experimental music usually sounds bad at first but with time (and fine tuning in a sense) it becomes good. Also, sometimes a sound works and I don’t believe artists need to change it.

It happens all the time:
The most popular television shows are usually completely shallow and retarded, the most popular newspapers are usually no better than tabloids and even the most popular books are usually not the highest works of art.

So with music: the best selling records are mostly not innovative.

Trance music is not underground for a few years now and therefore those "rules" have conquered our music too.
What was once underground is now mainstream, though there will always be innovative music out there. It's just harder to find it, that's all.

The majority of old goaheads I've met through the years aren't that interested in the latest psy anymore...many switched to chillout or other genres like industrial or IDM...

And its quite normal that a scene starts with a bang and then gets predictable and boring overtime...
