Hey guys,

I agree with you beto but we have a lot good progressive parties like higher spirit and others like this, but most parties are playing only full on all the time . For me a ideal party should Start with a soft music to warm up the dance floor and along the time when the crowd is coming put the ppl dancing slowly as the bpm increase...

As Anakis said: they go only for doing high jump on the floor .....

Peace

In my opinion it's great that brazil focuses on Full-On...
Personally, I think that progressive is good to listen to when i drink my afternoon tea or while i'm taking a nap.

Because the most part of Brazilians like comercial tracks as seek and destroy...And generally has an ecletic and not prepared mind to progressive that is so good, most of Brazilian raves, go party because of some very comercial propouses and drugs too. This country was never a Trance country, but it was a samba and comercial dance music country, thats the matter dude, the begining..

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha

So prog is a more evolved kind of trance?

So most pp like comercial music?

So Brazil is not a trance country?(???)

Come on guys, it's not because u like it that's it's more evolved!!!

What makes a music comercial??? Isn't it being KNOWN by everyone?

What country is a trance one? How can someone say something like this? There were not that many countrys being created since trance is around, so everywhere pp listen to other styles...

Actually, the babies should stop crying, if u don't like full on, go to prog parties...

I dance and rock to both styles, but I can dance the whole night (or day, I really enjoy heavy music during the day time!) long to fullon but 3 or 4 prog songs already bores me down!

And answering the original question, trancers in Brazil come mostly from rock n roll backgrounds, making them more suited for guitar sounds and fullon style.

But the scene is growing, new pp arive everyday, and prog is growing to, even taking some public from Rio de Janeiro's favelas funk!

Hope u prog fans hold on to the responsability of changing the scene for worse. Of trance becoming the new house.

I'm really afraid of what trance may become from now on...

I miss the goa times, but since it passed, it passed... let's keep it on... full on!

drope, i guess this thread was not supposed to be a fight between the to supporters of both stiles. its obvious whats goin on at the parties here in brazil and beto's question deserves some investigation, at least imho.

your arguments are quite pointless, since:

- no one of the both stiles is better or more evolved, its just different, with different supporters, with the same goals over different ways...

- yes, most of the ppl like comercial music, but i'm sure there is something like underground-fullon and this is played at parties too...

- yeah your'e right, since trance doesn't exist a long time we can not discuss about traditions, but trance was not invited in brazil, that's for sure...

- babies may not be taken to the most of the parties...

- nobody asked you if u can dance the whole night or if proggy is boring for you (i'm not with you but i can imagine why you feel like this: here we go with beto's question and its answers)

- but it is ok for you that fullon turns sometimes into lovely, cute and so smooth heavy metal? don't worry, there is still a quite big difference betwen housy proggy psy-trance and the real house...

- yes man, i (and the guys and girls i know) do worry about the future of trance, as you can see i am not brazilian but i love your country and try to do my best as long some ppl wants it and let me try to help proggy to evolve in your lovely piece of mother earth...

- hm, why are u afraid that proggy-supporters will break down the scene? do we have some errors that fullon-fans don't? are we sick or even insane? is proggy a bad bad devil-thing that threatened the world?

- perhaps i am not informed (if so please enlighten me), but please tell me what have rio's favelas to do with proggy? prejudices?

- we proggy supporters, don't we have our right to party too?

- yeah, i stop now...

i'm sorry, but i couldn't read in your post any objectivity, please stay in the reality...

peace           just gimme more of the same. its just a test!

This argument seems to go on & on & on...I didn´t quite realize what´s the point in finding out the reasons why brazilians supposedly dislike proggies...But let´s speculate a bit. First of all, a great deal of the party goers here (as well as ppl who listen to psytrance) are quite young, and, this fact mixed up with the brazilian character which is not of the introspective sort, right the opposite, do not favor the proggy style. Besides that, many of those ppl learned to enjoy psytrance hearing to fullon tunes, not to proggy or housy tunes. If ppl enjoy fullons better than proggies, it´s not a matter of being further evolved or not: it´s a matter of plain musical taste, which is, by all means above any objective argument.

I think this thread is somewhat pointless, and would be far better suited in some musical anthropology workshop.

I think that if there was progressive parties i´d be thinking about joining them more often... Im tired of fullon and thinking about not going to parties anymore... I got fed up with it...
A place where there is a lot of prog is Tranceformation, during carnaval..
its a pitty i cant say the same about the other fests, im just stoping going to them...

Hey Incubator chill man, I didn't mean to upset you...

I hv nothing against prog fans or djs, and yes, there are prog parties...

About comercial music, it seems SO obvious that more pp will react to a more known song than a "underground fullon".

it seems harsh to me, to say "nobody asked u sh:t". It seems harsh to me to say "they just go to make high jumps on the floor". It's not PLUR at all those kind of words...

If u think my post lack objetivity try reading the first ones...

when they will change ..... so the progressive will come to brasil easierly.

So it's ok to say fullon fans don't know anything about music, or that fullon is so popular because pp don't understand about music...

What the real problem is? Prog fans can dance in any festival but they get dispointed cause the floors get empty and they would hv to dance all by them selves... It's a shame pp are trying to control other pp taste...

Brain, are u bored with fullon? hv u heard Eskimo, Psydrop, Melica and all those new projects coming from greece, hungary and stuff? Fullon is also evolving...

I hv nothing against Rio's favelas or there inhabitants, BUT, there were this big wave of music based on the "Whomp, there it is" stuff, and everything sounded the same... Two parties ago (who's counting the days?) I was 600km from home (Rio) and this prog DJ plays a song with samples like that... What can I say? (UH só as cachorras?)

And last but not least, God and devil live in your chest, in your heart. U decide who does the talkin...

Hey guys sssup?

i have an opinion to post here...

Since most of the ppl attending to a trance party here in Brasil doesn't know what they are listening to (c'mon, lets face reality, we are minority at parties, max 50%), they enjoy the situation (party) bcz of some other reason but music. All this majority extract from the sound is the kick bom bom bom bom bom bom.

So, why they SEEM to like fullon the most?
I have a very simple answer: because of their heart rate. Yes, heart bpm. Most of the ppl are so accelerate that they simply can't equalize their bpm with progressive trance usual bpm. And it recalls that point wich for this majority all that matters is the music kick. And so progressive seems to be something boring.

Does anyone agree with that?

eh nois

Yes Aurum, most pp doesn´t hv any knowledge about the music, but that´s also changing... Kazaa, Soulseek and the likes are bringing the music to pps home, but yet, majorly big hits...

U hv to know what u´r looking for, so, when pp stumble over Boom Shanker, Electro Panic, Intelligent Life, any 1200mics and other overly known musics they 'think' they´r getting THE BEST STUFF...

When pp hear that stuff on a party 5% can get anoied but the rest would scream, put their hands in the air and run to jump in the floor...

This isn´t good or bad, is just a fact...

And so, about the heart bpm Aurum, I hv to ask... Should pp make an effort to alter their own bpm so they would like a specific subgenre or should producers and djs deliver what their public expect and payed for?

I think a good way to face that would be prog floors on parties... I mean, an 'alternate floor' that would only play prog... This wouldn´t piss off fullon fans and would deliver what prog fans expect... I know it happens in other places but on Brazil I´ve never seen...

If this starts to happen I would even go to that floor, but don´t expect me to be there for more than 5 songs.

Well Drope, in fact i don't know man...i don't think ppl should alter their heart rates in order to enjoy slower trance...i believe ppl should actually alter their minds in order not to alter their heart rates...got my point? Alter their minds in the sense of attend to parties bcz of the music not bcz of something else.

If someone wants to do drugs, ok, i don't have anything to do with that, i just believe this should not be the main reason of going to a trance party.

I don't know if a made myself clear....did i? Anyway, thats my point...

In the other hand, from those who really knows trance music, liking fullon or prog IMO is just a matter of personal taste, nothing more than that.
