dont know what youre talking about mate. I feel there's plenty of psy out there today that is more than capable of producing trance states.

I just think the genres don't sound very similar these days, and the cultures surrounding the two scenes are pretty different.           http://soundcloud.com/herbert-quain

This kind of music puts me in a trance:

I think you confuse trance state with sleepy state

I think some idiots don't consider Goa/psychedelic trance as part of the trance scene because they associate it with drugs. Read this (in Spanish): http://www.buenosaliens.com/foros/mensajes.cfm/id.12639.t.psy-trance-que-le-ven-de-lindo-a-este-estilo.htm?&hilite=Trance

Good trance is good trance.... that is it. Intention defines true trance music IMO. Music written for the club, cocain and booze is not trance. It's party music. I personaly have been put into a very deep trance lots of times over the last 15yrs by all types of music.... Plastic Man got me good in the late 90's early 2000 but that is not trance right??? To me it is!!!!

yes goa is the real trance since it's psychedelic and dedicated or originaly intended to expand our minds. I ment trance as the music like hardtrance or this branches of techno when as I said goa and trance are two sides.

Hardtrance was pretty awesome...Too bad the same crap that destroyed it, is also destroying eurotrance....I am glad I've discovered psytrance. Some really cool intelligent music people have made.I've got a lot of catching up to do.To think I was going to completely leave the trance scene after 15 years.

Trance often gets criticized for sounding all the same. I can pretty much say that to tech-house which is a bore fest.

I liked trance (psy and non-psy) music. IMO there are two kinds of music: music I like and music I don't like.           http://soundcloud.com/cynodelic

I dont know where you live, but here in germany it never ,never was played in the same place. Psytrance and Hardtrance ftw - never mate
I can not remember it, and I visit goa parties since 1994

Speaking of Germany, 1994 was a little to late to see trance at a Goa party, Sven Vath already been there done that by then. Sven played Goa parties in Goa before any such genre was called Goa.

Does "back then" mean 1994 in Germany? So, if you were in Goa around the 1988 season(6 years before your trip to a Goa party); the following track was a song of praise to dance with. A big influence for Goa trance, please read the record data "welcome to the trance" :

Kinda amazing how much similar Goa trance is to Trance "back then"

The Yum-Yum track I posted.

This track appears on some "Goa" compilations and also a few "Trance" compilations.

In particular it's on one of my favorite mixtapes, which also contains armin van buuren and paul van dyk.

You didn't read what I said correctly.

What I said was:

There exists psytrance made today which does not produce a trance state

What you seem to think I said:

There does not exist psytrance music made today which produces a trance state.
