I totaly understand your point...

But in your 7 years of promoting you've never heard a CD skipping, or having glitches?

True, However this does not occur as often.

Do you think that other promoters that have DJs playing records in a lot bigger parties than the ones you've promoted (no offence) are taking risks?

All promoters take risks.

Re: Psy-trance parties? Yes, imo i think that would be too risky.

And why would that be a risk if you are spinning trance and not another genre?

Because cdj's are the standard, for reasons already mentioned.

What about deejays mixing on both Cdjs and turntables ?

What about scratching with CDs ??? the only player that allows this is the CDJ-1000 with the 'vynil-like' button....

.... but have U seen the price of it ??

Peace.           .

in my opinion the cdj 1000 is useless, why do we need it? we arent spinning hip hop, that and the crossfader are useless...           "On the other hand, you have different fingers."

With 4:4 Psytrance i'm with U, Berserx, but a little spinback from times to times in a BreakBeat/Dub mix is always sympatic           .

I started Djing on Vinyl.

As i progressed into Djing Psy Trance - i found that many of the songs I wanted to spin were not on vinyl - so , i switched to CD. For me it was about convenience. And thats how I have spun for years now.
I still like to break out the old vinyl sometimes - but between dust, needles, scratches, limited availability, CD is just better for me - and it seems the people dance to cd just as much as vinyl
