This is a cool cool topic, thank you , moderator - thank you, gadi. My name is Dan, I just moved to new york, i will be doing a year here as a international student starting next fall. I am double major in math and phylosophy, i think abstract courses are the most interesting (though i am just starting my third year). i think i feel most happy in my life when dancing outside to good music on good acid with good people - that's when i understand what satori means or what true redemption means, you know that feeling than you fly? yeah!..
So now is the question: are you afraid of the future?

Hello Isratrance, my name is Mohammed/Faisal/Mo...and the fifty other things people call me!!I am originally from the beautiful country of India. Moved to paradise Hawaii in 2000 and to L.A like 4 months ago. Will be going back to India in August after some of the best years of my life in the land of freeedom!
I was exposed to trance when i heard Mahdeva by Astral projection in 1998. It has inspired and touched every itsy bitsy part of my body since then. Hopefully when i am a bit older and am financially idependent i want to give back a lot to this great, fun loving, energetic, happy, peaceful community of trance!!
Q)Is the great American civilization nearing its end??           Is there hope??

A: If not the end, something has got to chnage the way most Americns live. (Slowfood.org)!!!

My name is Ore and I have been in NY for the last 3.5 years of my life. I am now back in my home town of LA and next week I am moving to Italy for a year.

Most people eat to live, I live to eat!! Culinarian by trade, 22 years old - in love with psy but also love to eat out, especially small 'hole-in-the-wall' restaurants. I also like to play volleyball, love to garden, and have a serious problem with all the high-tech, super expensive music software!

Q: How did we, as humans, get to this earth??

yo ! im Nik , some know me , most of you dont
im old enough to drink , i like dark full power, and live in the city that never sleeps
- humans got to earth eh ?
i think most likely we evolved here , on earth from more primive primates , simmular to monkeys as we know them now , how did they appear here ? easy ! they evolved from othe more primitive life forms.... and how did those appear ? evoulution of matter , simple matter becomes more complicated inside the closed system , if there is a source of energy (sun in our case )

Q. What is the next step of matter evolution ? ( artificial intellingence ? )

hi my real name is janette but alot know me by sky. i 1st got into psytrance back in 1999, one of my friends played a CD for me, and i was like OMG this is awesome..soon after i started hitting up some psyparties in NYC, i love all psy and progressive trance..i cant decide which i like better..some days i am in a psy mood, then other days i just want to hear prog trance...
some of my fave artists are: hallucinogen, shpongle, astrix, spacecat, spacetribe, PVD, tiesto, ferry corsten, AVB, marco v....
in my spare time i enjoy spinning records, and listening to new music, and i love to travel, love meeting new people, dancing, partying, clubbing....

A. the next step for evolution..well i think humans will eventaully evolve into superhumans, and we will become a super race..kinda like tha aliens..hehehe

ok my question
q.
does isra-trance ever have meetups at the psyparties? just wondering because i think it would be really cool, and it would be a great way to meet more people into the psy scene!           trance is my heart and soul

I've never experienced a real meet-up per-se but I have met Isratrance membetrs at psy parties. It seems it's inevidable in such a small scene as the South Florida one.

Name is Denis, I am originally from Belarus, I studied art in Vienna, Austria and now live in Ft. Lauderdale area. I am studying to be a neuro surgeon.

In my free time I work out in the gym, wakeboard (don't try this at home) and once in a while I play rugby.

My question: Is a crocodile longer or greener?

Longer, i think but being from Fl id wager you know more about large water borne reptiles than I,

Anyways Im Lawrence. 25 years old and from San Francisco. Im originally from Monterey and grew up with another isra-trance member Mubali.
I'm what would be classified as an "old skool" jaded raver. Started out in the SF underground way back listening to tech/tribal house, breaks and big beat.
Worked my way into trance and then as the sound developed more and more, psy trance. Ive been an active promoter for about 4 years , and more recently I've been dj'n a lot.
In my free time, I enjoy the outdoors or driving my car really fast along the pacific coast.

Q: many people claim psy as the highest point in the evolution of electronic music thus far, so then what do you think will be the high point in 10 years?

I'm Neil from Philly, I've been into psytrance for so long it's almost pathetic. I do not DJ, throw, or go to parties that often anymore. I burned out by juggling intense personal ambitious goals and partying too much in between.

In my spare time, I play guitar, chess, and I just bought an RSX.

A: Psytrance is the highpoint in all musical evolution. Talent is self involving and almost anyone with a computer can make this style (whether its good-or-not?? that takes skill).

Q: Anyone watch Top-Gun on Encore last night?

I'm Brett From Tibet. I got the name after being picked-on ruthlessly by some French chillum smokers for being an American..while living in the Kumoani himalaya. they couldn't grasp that some Americans weren't gun-packing, Pepsi-drinking George Bush worshipers..and i just said..'fuck you all I'm not from America...I'm Brett ..FROM TIBET!" and so it was...

born in florida, now in Portland Oregon. I found something deep and powerful in the psychedelic experience in high school..when most friends just found fun and laughs. Went to my first "house/trance" party at The Edge in Ft. Lauderdale in 1994, and saw The Grateful Dead in 1995 - an experience that very much awakened me and set my spirit free... USed to be a deadhead, things took a turn when I heard "Blue Room Released : MAde on Earth" in 1998.

this spiritual Goa sound inspired me to travel..and i lived in JApan on the JET program and got into the party scene (and the JApanese language and headspace) there for a couple years...saved my yen...and took off trancing in Europe/India/Thailand/Australia
for a couple years after that. And I got to trek and camp a lot and get into nature inbetween chasing the elusive unspoiled party...

i am interested in promoting this culture and turning America on to psychedelic trnce.
We have the psychedelic counterculture (rainbow, jam bands, burningman, raves)- the population, the nature, the psychedelics, the technology, the money and everything we need in theory....!!!

MY dream is that we could have a scene that is at least 1/3 as active as our friends South of the border in Mexico and Brazil....
is is slowly growing..thanks to work from a handful of good promotors..keep up the good work.

trust in trance and always dance!

hey im nesta, from NY, but living in the hot ass desert outside LA. psytrance has made its way into my life for the last 4 years and has offered me motivation to deal with the boring parts of life. i like being outdoors, hiking and camping. love having sex, cause there are no chemicals like brain chemicals, and spend too much time thinking, with little to say for it. So as for the ???, first off how do people keep a straight face when our country is run by Dick, Colon, and Bush. and yes they need lots of fungus.

My question is what are YOU so self-rightious about???

i'm pretty self righteous about politics.. that isn't to say that i don't listen to other peoples' points of view, but some people (especially some of the ones that i work with) are really pro-bush/pro-war/pro-theocracy, and it's really hard for me to keep my mouth shut when they start the whole "if you don't support the president, then you are really just a terrorist sympathizer" bullshit. i could go on and on about bush, cheney (bush+dick=everybody gets fucked!), ASHCROFT, wolfowitz and the rest of the orwellian neo-con nightmare, but then i would be here typing all afternoon. of course, this forum has a no-politics policy so i don't want to turn this into a heated political debate (as much fun as that might be, lol).. i just wanted to answer the question that was posed in some detail.
anyway, a little about me.. 28yo guy living in the atlanta area (originally from new hampshire), been into trance since the mid 90's but have been into electronic music ever since i was introduced to stuff like new order, kraftwerk, depeche mode, psychic tv and acid house in the 80's. i work as an agent for air new zealand where i spend most of my daytime hours (no, i don't get travel passes), and in my spare time i like to listen to music (electronic, industrial, punk, ska, indie, etc... joy division is the greatest band ever), in-line skate/skateboard, keep up with current events, waste time on AIM, and talk about amish porn (well, maybe not that last one..). i started djing around 1995 playing acid techno, breakbeat (even some miami bass, lol),and d&b, but have been playing psytrance exclusively since about '98 or so (with a little bit of progressive house and 80's stuff every now and then for variety). i don't play out a whole lot here in atlanta (psy isn't especially 'trendy' around here, although we have done some small events in the past), but do get to play with the touch samadhi soundsystem in asheville every so often (it's always great to see the wonderful people up there too!).
oh, and i'm a moderator on this forum... although people here usually do a pretty good job of minding their manners and respecting the guidelines.

Q: which historical figure(either past or present) do you have the most respect for, or would like to be able to meet?          michael

which historical fig huh?....
well i for one ..wud give anythn to meet ...ole boy Meyer Lansky..those of u who havent heard of him..hers a quick summary..

"Meyer Lansky will forever be the most enigmatic figure ever to operate in the shadows of the mafia. Unlike may of his organized crime contemporaries, Lansky was a highly intelligent, diminutive individual who dealt with the business end of things, and the business end of guns. Not one to seek recognition, he worked in the shadows, as other mobsters became public enemies, and targets. Later on in life, Lansky came to Luciano's aid,(Lucky Luciano was the godfather) negotiating a deal with the US Navy to release Luciano so he could help the American defeat the fascists, who had long been in charge of Sicily. Meyer Lansky died a rich old man, in Miami, Florida.

Q.what be the most profound movie who have ever seen?

peace
Ishaan

i like this string... it's ALWAYS interesting to get to know other people (which is also what i'm trained to do as an aspiring anthropologist). i'm yuka, from japan, turning 28 this year, student of anthropology living in Hawai'i. the ocean is my Mother and my room in a house i share with 2 others is my sanctuary where i listen to music (mostly instrumental including classical, bossa nova, jazz, ambient etc), read and sleep.

most profound movie... can't say as i'm not much of a movie watcher... i think the pictures does injustice to your imagination so i personally like books better. Kipling, Micheal Ondaatje, Salman Rushdie, Garcia Marquez and of course J.D. Salinger!

Q: anybody who's been to parties in Portugal/Spain, those in India and those in the U.S., how would you compare them? (or is it comparable?)
