Baba means father/grandfather in Bengali
but it also transcends age so it can mean baby too...
I quite like it and its definitely more affectionate than yo,man,dude,homie,saale,gandu or chootiya.

pseudo hippie goatrancers slang .. holy men `sadhus` are actually refered to as `babas` in India , some of em smoke pot .. im sure u know that .. but yeah . i agree .. this whle baba shiva boom peace respect gayness reeks of fakeness , in this scene .

thats another gross misintepretation mk47. It's like saying 'father' means christian priest. the scene might reek but that doesnt mean everything it touches does the same.

dat aint true many laungages & delicts in India use this term in many diff. retrospect.
but in genral u sud feel respected as cosmic said wen ur reffred as baba

Exactly! I would like to refer to a wise old guy as 'baba'. Doesn't matter if he's one of 'em smokey tribe or gay!

@ sure_smoke_alot i knoe wat u mean .... baba = Hindu holy men or also religious people who practice self-castigation or self punishment and so on .... and also baba means diff things but basically its means father ...
& i think its a very common word used in a smoky clan ..
