Maybe some artists needs more time to find their own style before releasing so much "dancefloors killers", that has only the break and the melody.

Maybe labels need to start to release unique music done by artists that have used time on their music and have found their ownpersonal style instead of copy cat no. 501

sorry it was just a joke, i was indeed thinking on Asterix... a joke on Asterix, not on Astrix, in any way i was trying to take credit from all Astrix work

i wonder, how fuck stupid you think i am to give an explanation like that!

Astrix is my trance god, but i can see how you all think he's getting a little stale....and the copycats definately add too much cheese to the genre as a whole. I'd really like to hear astrix evolve his downtempo production like that track "Beyond the Senses". that song is amazing and while it totally rings with his signature style of production, i think that following a different (not full-on) path could really break him out of that paradigm.

I dont know if he started it but for sure he is the one that developed it along with people like Atomic Pulse and Alien Project specially when all this gang was working together producing great albums like Midnight Sun and Eye To Eye which i preety much enjoyed.

After those two albums everyone tries to copy this kind of music but due to lack of imagination, equipment and music knowledge most artists just end up with bad copy paste music made on illegally downloaded software.

Eliran as one that looks at the full on scene from the side for a while now, I can tell u without any doubt that:

01. Astrix is a 'godfather' of the full on trance as we know it today. It started with his debut track on Israeliens 3 ( with Atomic Pulse I think ) and as Yoni stated he defined the style with his 'Eye to Eye' album and specifically with the Scientific Reality track.

02. Since that happened it is a fact that many ( especially Israeli ) artists tried to copy that formula ( including Delirious btw in my opinion ofcourse ) but as far as I am concerned no one came close to the man that invented it.

03. Lately ppl began to understand that being copycat doesnt help much, so those with real talent try to find new paths and there is interesting stuff again out there in the full on land ( Only today I heard some track from band called Silent Hill, totally interesting and innovating )

I believe that every one has to get what he entitled 2 - Astrix definitely defined and re-defined the full on trance around the globe, and if u want another proof for that, go and see his booking list and see the other 'clone' bands booking list - the difference is quite big I would say

agree with everything yuli/hanky/borris said, however i would place the birth of the genre at the release of the first alien project album (which to the best of my knowledge was conceived mostly by astrix). that was when the style really came about. i clearly remember that around that times full on djs played a combination of skazi-styled tracks and gms/astrix-styled tracks...           the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist....
