whose dj dj-set makes you to dance more than all the others lately(the last 1-2 years)?
(attention,not a live set)
personally i think james monro and max are curently at the top! |

Why do you think Goa Gil is number 1?
I watched him twice last year (summer festival by cyberlight in Naoussa and Neraida in September 2003) and I was so much dissapointed....
It was like I was listening to Parasense and old Neuromotor sets....and why is his name "Goa" Gil by the way??? |

Well he's been around for ages and is known for playing ultra long sets but in my opinion the man dont know the first thing about mixing and ruin the flow with his drastic mixing technique  But he's a nice guy even though I dont share his taste in music style which is too similar track after track. But that's a matter of taste nothing personal

Goa Gil is not a Dj, himself describe him not as a Dj, not Disc Jockey technics.
For me, the best one in the trance scene is Dimitri Nakov. Dino and Bansi are also great.
In the progressive side I really like Marco from Son Kite. And Mark Allen for sure ... |

remember what happened to goa gil last year at the excalibur?
He played the whole floor empty for hours, so then they just turned his sound off cause he wouldnt leave and had another dj take over playing on another set of decks.
story of Gill @ Excalibur....I think it's the most sad story of a dj ever in the history of trance. Gill should go home and reconsider why he's dj-ing at all, 'cause he ain't playing for the people at all no more....which for me makes him nothing but an egotripper...and not a dj. To me it's a mystery how people can book such a fool again...but then again, he does have his share of fans...don't know why, but he does for some reason. Anyway...to be honest I hope some in a will take him away to a planet where they do like what he does....so someone else can play and we can all finally dance again !!!! ....'cause a man that doesn't even notice that what he's playing is not even running over the mainsystem anymore, 'cause they disconnected him and fixed another dj-boot, indeed....'cause he didn't wanna leave....should we really let someone with an ego-centered attitude like that play for us as partyfreaks? If so....then I think the question of the day is: How low can u go as a dj It ain't what u do, it's the way that you do it....
i think no one should be playing 24 hours, especially if you only play one style.
If you do play 24 hours, you should be going from Gil sound to D-Nox sound to Sven Vaeth to Digweed to Astrix and back, and no one is that varied.
Anyway, I was there last year, you should have heard the peole bitching about Gil. A group of people organized and went up to him to ask him to play a little more "Fluffy" when the sun was burning down at 12 pm, but he refused and was rude to them, and then they went to the organizer and he set up a new booth.
and the funniest thing was that Gil kept playing for at least half an hour to himself. I noticed that someone new was on cause the new DJ smoothly beatmixed from Gil to his first track, and as we all know Gil cant mix so it had to be someone else.
And then, a little melody slowly appeared, and in 3 minutes the floor was full!!
Anyway, I noticed that a lot of those supposedly super "tolerant" old hippies are the most egomanical intolerant people on earth. They are like the anti-pole to religious fundamentalists, they are shanti-fundamentalists, and Shiva beware if you are not Shanti enough....

A very talented Dj is Tristan. Once he started playing (indoors) 8 oclock in the morning and even though everyone was about to leave the club we stayed until 12. Very clever and powerful morning set.
Mick Chaos is also very nice along with Simo and Astral Mike are the best UK residents.
Personal favorite is Serge from Antidote and Total Eclipse |

well gkalpakas.. this story just that show.. there is big problems with the psychedelic scene.. not with Gil..
he play from DAT that why he cant beatmix, but he played also when u are a littlechildren... respect.

the thing is that u have to be prepared to really take something out of a Goa Gil set. The guy used to mix from tapes, making cuts and everything, i really don't think u people know exactly the intention. Try to read the famous thesis that u can download from his site.
